I hope that he and Haley continue to find what works for him and build on that, some of those plays today were really promising. We pitched the ball heck when was the last time you saw a running back pitch? They worked the sideline in a two minute drill(what the heck?) and they ran play action in there as well. I think had Dwill been ready to go, that Bell would have been all over the place.

I would have to go back and look at the play from the reverse angle but did he throw it before he knew the CB undercut the route?

He needed to throw that pass to AB outside shoulder.

Yup If you throw that you put it outside. The only way you throw that where he did is if it's Bryant or another WR that has the Height advantage.

true but I still like the aggressive play call there just the execution was bad, they tried the fade a lot and it isn't one of Landry's better throws

They needed to come away with points there, Landry has to play smarter.

but take the shot there too, I mean 9 out of 10 times you have AB with one on one coverage there, you take the shot right? Yes the interception cost them at least 3 points but I'd still take the shot, maybe a better play call.

Yeah, he definitely still needs some more work, but I feel a lot better about him after this game.

For what it's worth, Landry played better today than Ben did last week against Miami.

It just seems Landry needs to grow a set and take charge. After 4 years he should know the offense and be able to call the plays. He looks scared and plays scared.

My only thing with that was I'm not sure AB is the guy we want battling in a jump ball situation. I don't mind taking a shot and honestly I wished we had taken a few more just to back up the secondary and give Le'Veon a little more room to operate. I still thought Le'Veon looked good but say Ladainian on NFL Network saying we need to get more out of Bell. I'm curious what more he could do. He makes something out of nothing probably better than anybody in the league. There were times today when I thought back to how Mendy would have been stuffed like crazy but Le'Veon turned it in to a great play.

I think he could have done more if say DWill had been in there or if they had a legit threat at TE to back the LB's up and force the safeties to choose. I think the week to prepare and worried about OLine injuries kinda forced their hand a bit.

Man I'm hoping Green can actually play. I'm not sure how well he can block but at least he can maybe stretch the field a little more.

Good enough, probably never have another blocker like Heath, though.

Just hope its not concussion issues keeping Green out.

Well they've said that it was more "sinuses" than "concussion symptoms" in some things I've read. Then when I saw Tomlin talking about him this week in his presser he said that he was getting really close and could have even been activated for today. I guess not. It's irritating but it just is what it is.

Better than Bad Ben, not close to Good Ben.

Landry jones has shown sole stuff but it's ont a good QB. Patriots should have 2 more pick at least. Lot of underthrow, lack of decision making, he didn't run when he could.
yesterday he didn't lose the game, but he has no self-confidence, he is afraid when he play, his accuracy is noy very good.

This game for me confirm that he is one of the worst back up QB

He certainly played even better then expected. He look confident, poised and loose . Bad coaching decisions really cost us the game. Not Landry.

I think what yesterday confirmed is that the people who have it in for a player will have it in for them no matter what...

    Pro's:
Landry was not the reason we lost.
He moved around the pocket better than he ever has.
    He ran play actions nicely.
His rapport with Brown seemed very good.

    Con's
He has to manage the play clock better. He burned way too many timeouts
He needs to work on his 2 minute drill. See above with play clock.
Rapport with Bell out of the backfield was bad. Was really throwing Bell off.
Red Zone interception not good, Was a 4 to 7 point swing.

I'm not an LJ lover or hater. I thought he got great protection, went through his reads (watched him several times look at a 2nd or even 3rd target), and generally protected the ball. When pressure did eventually materialize, though, he seemed to rush the ball out to a receiver instead of moving around, scrambling and/or throwing it away. And maybe it was just me, but many of his non-fade passes looked to lack zip.

I only watched the first half but one observation about Landry Jones' play. I've read articles that said the the OL protected Landry better than they've protected Ben all season and they seemed to do a good job of that yesterday. But, Ben often does his OL no favors. I thought Landry did a good job of hitting his check downs and getting rid of the ball quickly. Ben still has a tendency to want to make the upfield throw and seems to have a stubborn resistance at times to hit his check down receiver when nothing is there. Hence he scrambles around to buy more time which often results in him taking unnecessary hits and missing valuable time in 10 out of 13 seasons.

I don't agree on him Glenn. Just can't get a good feel for him. Looked lost as the clock was running out on us yesterday. I have to root for him because they aren't going to ship him off
