It is clear that Ben is the only one that cares about winning.

I just turned the game off for the first time ever after expecting the team to go for it on 4th and 13 because, well they had to, but instead the decided to punt. The prior 3-4 minutes it was clear that nobody on the team cared about wining, as the players were just waling casually around the field and the coaches were calling 6 yard pass plays when it is 2nd and 20 and run plays on 1st down. No emotion or drive or fire by ANYONE on the team. They seemed to be clocked out and ready for cupcake vacation bye week.

I am extremely embarrassed to support a team that, for the first time that I can recall, clearly gave up and had no desire to compete.

The team gave a good effort. I think they wanted to win. They made to many mistakes to have a chance to win.

Tomlin gave the game away when he went for the FG instead of going for it on 4th and 2. The previous play was also stupid, throwing it on 3rd and 2 with Landry when we have the best RB in the league who consistently falls forward. If we convert either of those, this game may have turned out different.

Punting on 4th and 13 with less than 6 minutes left in the game, one time out, and down 11 points does not suggest that they, or at least whoever made that call, wanted to win.

You're saying they should have went for it on 4th and 13 from their own 17 with 5 minutes left?

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Disappointed with this team and the coaching. With the receiving core we have and we can't get more than one passing TD?

Arguably the best WR in the game, best RB in the game, and we rely on the kicker for points?

Put Mettenberger in there, H#ll, put the 4rth string in I don't care but someone send them all long and throw the ball.

Yeah, the FG was a headscratcher. Jones could have scrambled the two yards the play before. Frustrating to watch.

That aside, I think it's unfair to say nobody wants to win on the team. The defense played lights out for most of the game. The o-line did their job really well.

If nothing else, we've learned that the Pats are very beatable. We just need to have a few more healthy players.

Going for it on 4th and13 would've been the most idiotic call in history

I stated this even before Tom Brady returned. Even with him... New England is not as infallible as many make them this year.

In years past.. this New England team looked nigh omnipotent. This year.. they look mortal.

Some of you watched a different game than me :lolol:

Damn good effort. Hubbards holding and the missed PI call where the DB was clearly holding the receivers arm down hurt bad. Plus the missed FG. Between that and the TD called back, thats 10 points.

By punting, we would have had to stop the Patriots twice on offense with only one time out and the two minute warning, as we were down two scores. Punting basically concedes the game, where as going for it at least gives you the opportunity to get a first down on your own accord. Obviously since you are on your own 17 you don't want to have to do that, but with the constraints of the game and only having two 1 time out, you have to give yourself a chance. They shouldn't have had a 4th and 13 on their own 17 to begin with, but that is also part of why they appeared to give up rather than fighting to win.

Other than a botched snap, how would you suggest the team wins by punting in that situation? Attempting to play for the onside kick, IF they are able to score?

Coup,e of coaching hiccups... I'm not pinning the loss on Tomlin tho I wished situationally he would've done a couple things different. These guys were prepared and player mistakes takes the brunt of what happened. Weren't supposed to sniff victory today and damnit it was there.

You have to rely on your defense in that situation to go 3 and out. Give Brady a 1st and 10 on his own 17 up by 11, you have no chance at all

Wheaton out, Coats basically out, Brown was clearly hurt.
DHB and Hamilton. You wanna rethink that?

One thing I personally would've changed, is not taking Hamilton out on 1st down after his 3rd conversions and kept throwing on 1st or atleast kept the guesswork in with the previous plays hero in the mix... Liking this big bodied receiver

I didn't like the call to go for a 54yd fg. Even Jeff Reed never kicked one that long. Boz has a leg but Heinz is just not a friendly stadium to kick in. Honestly though I felt like the team did show a lot of heart today for the most part. I think it's safe to say that Landry looked a lot better than a lot of people expected him to. Yes he makes dangerous and even sometimes stupid throws but he's a backup for a reason. One thing is for sure though. Le'Veon Bell is a Foot. Ball. Player.

This thread is funny to me because I remember an idiot saying last year that Ben wanted to watch the playoffs from his couch. :roflmao:

I have that feeling as well.

People have been talking about how we're going to get blown out all week.

Now some people are acting like this was the Miami game, and we actually should have annihilated them.

And others are insisting the Pats were basically going soft on us (though remember that Belichick's teams are never unprepared and always execute against weaker opponents).

Consistency isn't just the players issue...

Blast Furnace just isn't capable of getting his posters prepared every week. You can bet ThePatriotsFans' mod team has their people ready, week in and week out.
