Yeah he could have tripped himself up and knocked himself out of a game and out for a few weeks with an injury after a fan spent countless hours and days hyping him. I mean that would definitely have been embarrassing and put him top 10.

I've never been a Landry Jones fan. Not at the college level, not as a prospect coming out, and not as the Steelers backup QB.

    BUT

In a vacuum, I'm actually excited to see what he does with the opportunity. He's essentially playing for his career over the course of the next month or so. He knows the offense inside and out. He's not a rookie. He's a veteran backup QB with a future if he ceases this moment. He's got offensive weapons around him.

Do I expect him to beat the Pats? No. But his play in that game will go a long way towards determining whether we are capable of keeping the shift afloat in the subsequent 3 or 4 games.

Not a Landry Jones fan but he is a Steeler QB and right now he is the best off the bench we have. So how about some support for him.

Until we can find a QB who can find his ass with both hands. When Ben is hurt we're in bad shape

I think Grad was technically able to. It's just that he tore a rotator cuff on the reach.

He played for his career last year. He stunk up the joint and he is still here.

Damn I would take those tickets if I lived closer....I don't care who's starting

You could always go and yell your witches brew of obscenities at Jones at least it would help with the crowd noise :hmm:

I could probably find Landry Jones's ass with both hands.
But I really don't want to.

Landry is a solid Christian man and for that I respect him. As a college QB he was very good in the system he played played. His transition to the pros has been difficult but he has had some success so it hasn't been a total and complete failure.

As mentioned earlier, he has an opportunity at the perfect time in his career. If he capitolizes on it we all win. If not his future in the NFL may be over.

I believe if he plays with confidence and a certain amount of aggression and doesn't let the fear of failure derail him we will win this game. Of course coach Butts must do his part as well.

I wasn't a fan of drafting LOLandry. His highlight clips were really highlight clips of Justin Brown. He made Jones look better. I think that's one reason the Steelers drafted Brown in the same draft. Having said that, I hope he has the game of his life Sunday and bears the cheatriots. I just haven't seen anything that makes me think it will happen. There's a lot of pressure on him these next few games. He could secure his spot on the team or lose his spot, especially if they have to bring in Mettenberger and he plays well.

And if he has a great game people here will say it was a fluke, I dont know why people hate on him so much, he did throw 123 TDs in college, or maybe they hate him for being a christian the same as the Tbow haters hated him for being religious, it reminds me of the bradshaw haters the first 3 years he was here??? On a side note, I would like to see a couple of gimmick plays in this game, something belichick hasn't prepared for.....

He will have to string a couple of games together to win folks over. Like I said it looked to me like Justin Brown made him look better. I have no issues with his or Tebow's faith. Lord knows the NFL needs better character guys. I don't understand the Tebow hate either. Heck he beat us in the playoffs. Problem for Landry is he's not playing us.

I looked at some of his highlights from 2010 and he was spreading the ball around, actually hit a couple guys in tight windows who made some nice moves after the catch but didn't see a lot of guys making him look better than he was. THe problem with highlights though is they don't show the bad plays that led up to the highlight reel ones so it is hard to know what's what.

I won't say that I'm a Landry fan but he is on the team as the #2 qb so next man up right? I think he played well when he's had time to prepare. The bigger concern is Haley & Butler game plans & the in game adjustments. If LJ isn't worthy of stepping in a winning games, why is he still on this team as the # 2 qb? if we as fans expect him not to make an errand throw ex: overthrows, balls short, balls high, balls low etc. I do believe Ben has done all those things as well, right? The more in game reps he gets the better he should understand and correct his mistakes. As of this very moment. I'm more concern about the Butler game plan than LJ.

So the coaches can't see that he has no confidence? Some fan on a message board can diagnose that though?
From his interviews over the past week he didn't seem to be lacking confidence, but I'm not around him in person on a daily basis. Coaches know what they're doing.

The only time Dormont grad was any good was when he brought the stanky raiders in to Pittsburgh and beat us
