Sunday I was in shock, then I mourned, then reasoned and then got pissed off and finally vented in just one post in a thread.

Now I'm moving forward and looking to this weeks game and honestly think we can win.

Landry was a real good college QB.... But in the pros he has stunk but watching him play he looks like he's too timid , over thinking. When he relaxes and settles in a comfort zone he plays well and has a really nice deep ball.

    Bell...... Nuff said

Brown will play more slot than verses the fins and will open things up .

Cobi Hamilton win surprise people .

Defense --- Timmons and Vince will rebound because they are MAD!!!!!

Gilbert gets more snaps as will Dangerfield and Butts will fine a way to pressure tom and Deebo gets his first sack!!!!

I have so much confidence in Landry that I am concerned about losing the bye week.

I think we will give them a fight, but I'm not confident we will win due to how many people are missing on defense.

If we do win it is because the coaches came up with some great schemes on both sides of the ball.

Love the optimism and if we score 30 points or more we have a shot. If not forget it. Our Total Defense is 28th in the league! Do you really think we have the personnel to cover their TE's Gronk and Bennett? We have ZERO pressure on QB's can you imagine what Brady is going to do to us? Rewatch Game 1 of last year against the Patriots to get an idea on what your are going to see Sunday.

If anything has been proven over the years is that unpredictability can rattle the Pats so I hope the change things up because the other formula is to have an awesome front four that can pressure the QB and they don't have it.

Watch how the Ravens play the Pats, they too know how to beat the Pats. Doesn't hurt to to
have Ray Lewis and Ed Reed either. LOL

The way I see it is this.

Alongside the obvious drop off in talent level, the upside is that the Steelers will have to play a more balanced game; be less eager to put the game in the QB's hands and let Ben and AB try and win the game between the two of them.

In short: play a bit more carefully, and with a bit more focus. This is what they did in Arizona last season.

I might be clutching at straws, mind.

If Heyward were healthy, I might see us having a shot. To knock Brady off rhythm, you have to get inside pressure without sending extra guys (i.e. without leaving the underneath zones wide open for quick passes by sending LBs and/or extra DBs on blitzes). You can have the best edge rushers on the planet, and Brady will pick you apart if he's able to step up and step into his throws and get clean releases. In the AFCCG last year Miller and Ware got the glory, but it was Jackson and Wolfe beating the snot out of the Pats' interior line that really won the game for Denver. Though some folks don't see it, Heyward is as good as those two guys were last year. He's a stud D lineman, and makes everyone around him better. If he were healthy, I could see a big effort from him and Tuitt on the inside doing enough to keep the Pats in the low 20's, which would give us a chance.

We will definitely give a better effort because the coaches will take this game extra seriously, as opposed to games like Miami, or Baltimore last year, or Tampa the year before.

This could be the kind of game that makes us think that Tomlin is indeed a great coach.

And then in a month, we'll lay an egg in Cleveland.

It's just how this team rolls. Great under adversity, not-so-much when the pressure is off.

If they want to rush with four it should be 3 bigs and their best pass rushing OLB - Deebo. That's the ONLY shot of getting home with four. Moats and JJ are like fleas getting flicked away by dogs.

    Tuitt-McCullers-Hargrave-Deebo

Unfortunately, they've been dead set against something like this because they like the "flexibility" the extra LB brings. In other words, they like the fact that Moats or JJ can be bad in coverage, as well as at pass rushing.

Me too. BUT Landry is actually better than Ben so now it is a short shot. Hopefully Landry shows up and plays good and Tomlin's job will be saved and we can move on from the disastrous Roethlisberger Experiment. We're already paying Ben more than he is worth and by cutting him it would free up a few hundred dollars in cap space for us to extend Landry. Then in the first 4 rounds of next year's draft we could take qb's in all of them to try and find Landry's replacement for the future. This is just what I see happening but I'm sure the FO will poop the bed again.

My favorite Tomlin game was probably the one where Charlie went in to Baltimore and beat the rats. He will forever hold a special place in my heart for that and Tomlin had the team as ready as its ever been on that fateful day.

Yep, that one and v. Arizona last year. We *know* he can get his team up for challenges. He just can't do it for games that they should easily win.

I felt it was along shot for Miami to beat us and they not only beat us they crushed us.

Many reasons but it happened. The pats will want to take away Brown.... Ok, good, because Brown is only the Best WR when Ben plays. He has 43 TDs and All are from Ben. Landry has a better rapport with Cobi... Something the pats haven't seen on film. They will also want to take away Bell... That will be fun to watch. On Defense..... Well injures have hurt us but again what we will do with who we have the pats haven't seen much in film..... This another equalizer. Butts has a task in front of him and a legacy ( LeBeau ) to break from and one of his on to build. Defeating the pats is A big step, maybe one too big for him but I'm staying optimistic..... It's possible and I want to see it happen!!!
