72 different personnel changes from the Dolphins and a lack of urgency with some questionable play calls by the Steelers and Adam Gase finally notches another win.

News flash, we don't have guys who blitz well either.

Rushing 5 still requires winning 1 on 1 matchups genius.

Scheming for pressure is great, you might dial that up a couple times a game. But in today's NFL you have to win your matchup as a pass rusher to get to the QB.

You give Tomlin credit when they win, and blame when they lose (which is fine). You poorly apply winning and losing as solely a symptom of game planning which you clearly have very little knowledge of.

How Gase out coached Tomlin? He ran the football to our right side that had Mathews and Jarvis Jones on that side. He doubled Brown and made Ben be patience which he can't.

offensive line is ranked 14th in the league with only one player (Gilbert) allowing 3 or fewer sacks for someone who took more than 300 snaps last season. Decastro is a better run blocking guard and so is pouncey. how is this not true?

Sacks allowed are a dubious stat - QB holding ball too long, WRs are blanketed, overload blitz all are factors. You can't just assign them blindly to linemen.

Watch the games. Most times this year Ben has had a clean pocket. Most times as well, Bell is the one who makes this OL look like they know how to run block. He's a magician at making something out of nothing.

Good run blocking line, no doubt, but they'll get fat on the Cleveland and Indy's and get stuffed by the better fronts.

On defense? Clearly, as Butler and Tomlin have stated many times, the plan is to "get home with 4". 5+ man blitzes are way down (SteelersDepot charts this).

The problem is, we don't have capable pass rushers to get home with 4. Any QB in the league will have success if you don't pressure him.

Our best pass rushers are on the Dline.

    Cousins QBR 45.3 0TD/2INT
    Dalton 46.2 1TD/0INT
    Wentz 79.6 2TD/0INT
    Smith 30.9 2TD/1INT
    Fitz 65.2 1 TD
    Tannehil 74.6 O TD

We're aren't getting much pressure, and it's down significantly without Heyward and Shazier, but QBs aren't exactly having a ton of success against us.

Yea, Bell is totally why Deangelo Williams ran for 900 yards and 4.5 per carry last year....

offensively? we seem to have run the ball more with deangelo than when bell game back. We ran the ball more featuring an older (but still good) running back with 20+ carries a game. Bell is averaging 16 a game...

I agree heyward being out and a banged up defensive line doesn't help. Many other injuries are contributing as well, but guys like jarvis jones? a first round pick and havent heard his name called but maybe twice in games...

Bell is also averaging nearly 7 receptions a game, at a clip of nearly 9 yards a catch.

    He's got 340 total yards over 3 games.... I don't see a problem.

The fact that they split him out wide so many times a game creates other issues in the pass game, like Antonio Brown being able to be blanketed rather then having to keep a safety near the box to help stop the run. This little wrinkle is nice against tough pass defenses bc bell can be tough to match up with, but running the ball effectively keeps defenses honest by not allowing there safeties to play back and take away antonio.

Bell can also be effective if not more coming out of the back field. He can still put up numbers and make just as many catches.

How many times do you think they split him out wide vs Miami?

5 or 6 i would assume. I believe he had 6 catches on 7 targets. I know against kansas city he was split wide 12 times. Would you think LeVeon Bell coming back would help or hurt Antonio Brown? It should help, but going by targets and the numbers they have gone down.

I'd guess fewer, but my point was to illustrate different game plans.

I don't think Bell's return correlates much to ABs targets as much as having other WRs easily dealt with/requiring no extra attention schematically

We played so poorly that we ended up with only 55 snaps, as opposed to the 75-80 we were getting in previous games (impacts # of targets)

I agree with most everything you say , however; why do we get away from our game plan and become one demensional every time we don't have a lead going into the second half. We were down 1 score and the coaches or Ben decided that we should throw the ball down field and tie the game with one play. We don't have to do that. Too many 3 and out taking chances down the field when we should be handing the ball off or throwing it to bell underneath. That would keep our tires defense off the field and maybe they could play the game without throwing up in the end zone. I am sorry but Haley gets out coached every time we play a crap team from behind. Stick to the basics stick to the basics. I believe if we do that in the second half on Sunday we would have won. It wouldn't have been pretty or flashy like Haley likes it but a wins a win!!!!

I know the game has changed, but the Dolphins had the worst run D and the Steelers have Bell and Williams. I would have like to see them run it down their throats, especially since Ben was off. Phins either get gashed or they stop focusing on AB which opens up the passing game.

Not running it down there throats was the result, not the issue. The issue was not converting on 3rd downs to get sustained drives going. The issue was throwing 2 INTs cutting drives short. That's what led to fewer runs (along with trailing by more than 2 scores late in the 3rd/4th)

Hypothetical but here is how I would answer your question! Belicheat and the Patriots wouldn't lose this game UNLESS it's the last game of the season and the Cheatriots have nothing to play for! They would be ready and they would win that game 99.9% of the time IMO! That's how I see it. because for us to go to the Super Bowl, we will have to go through the Patriots!! They have already proven that they can win this year with a 2nd and 3rd string QB and without Gronk!!! Cn we win with with our 2nd string QB and all weapons???

Well maybe we wouldn't have won the Super Bowl or even got to the Super Bowl, but if Brown plays against the Broncos and Ben was 100% healthy I think that we would've beaten the Broncos in the playoffs last year. Hell, we had control of that game with 6 minutes left in the third quarter and driving for at least a 2 score lead and fumbled, then boom momentum changed and the rest is history! So IMO we had a legitimate shot at least for the AFC championship game in which Brown would've played in!
