Is Stephon Tuitt, going into his 3rd season I expected him to take that next step to become a more dominant player. After having 6.5 sacks last season, he has zero this season. With Heyward out he needs to step up, even if he doesn't get the sacks he needs to get QB pressures and TFL.

I was going to say Tuitt as well. However, I have a different player.

For me it has been David DaCastro. Even within victories like Kansas City, DaCastro has not looked like that All Pro from a year ago as he struggled early against the likes of Dontari Poe and Allen Bailey. Even in the Jets game he looked a bit outmatched against Leonard Williams.

Remove that week one performance against Washington and DeCastro's season has looked disappointing.

Double D has been a disappointment, him and Pouncey have always struggled with bull rushers.
Tuitt has never showed me anything. Thought he would be a game changer, he is just average like Cam,
but atleast Cam inhereted some of his Dad's heart.

I would sayDeCasto too. So far he hasn't looked like the player who earned a new contract.

I'd have to agree and say DeCastro. He just isn't getting it done like it needs to be done at this level.

Jarvis Jones is the easy pick but that is a given. Backed in the corner, being dissed not getting the 5th year option you would think he would come out guns a blazin. Negative.

I will say Tuitt as well. Showed last season to be an up and coming force but has been pedestrian so far.

Wheaton, injuries and dropped passes. He has not positively contributed outside of one touchdown. We need more.

I hate to do it, but David Decastro. I think it's the case of getting his butt kicked, as to taking terrible drive killing holding penalties. He hasn't been mentally sharp, which doesn't bode well will me as a guy who got a nice new contract. But I think he will turn it around.

You think Cam is average? Please tell me you were referring to Cam Thomas.

Good picks above with DeCastro, Tuitt and Wheaton. It's hard to pick which one has been the biggest disappointment. If it comes to cash value... definitely DeCastro.

As I was reading each post my mind was made up on DD until your post and it got me thinking. So I looked at the players named and lets start with tuitt. Yeah he hasn't taken that next step but a couple things stand out to me about this. First the injuries we have at the LB spot, is that hurting him? Do teams now focus on him instead of the LB's? Second, and I have said this in other threads but the scheme we are running..........SUCKS! Now onto Wheaton, yeah he has been a disappointment but with other guys stepping up it kinda over shadows that imo. Now onto who you threw out in Mitchell, and as I thought about it what has he done? I see a lot of effort in the after the play bs but really where has he been vs the run, filling the gaps? Tackles 10-20 yards down field are nice for a safety but man make a play when no one else is. Take you after the play energy and turn into a during the play tackle/stop and you have my respect back. So I am not trying to dump on guys but in a thread like this where you are talking about disappointments after a pretty bad loss it is hard not to. My vote was gonna be DD but I am not gonna lie you really made me think and changed my mind..................MITCHELL!!!!1

McCullers...that's a mountain of a man he should be dominating the middle clogging up running lanes and disrupting the line of scrimmmage and that's not the case.

True but really how much playing time has he gotten? Didn't he block a FG and also push the olineman right back into the qb? Yeah the qb got away and it ended up being a big play but that was push we haven't seen since Big Snack. I can't call McCullers a disappointment since we really didn't know what we had with him. Let's face it we were all more excited about Grave Digger then McCullers, jmo

Jump on the choice supportive bias train then since there are still some Steelers fans thinking he is playing at an All Pro level still.

If you miss that one, the curse of knowledge bias train is right behind it.

Obviously.............Martavis Bryant (and we already know he will lead this category, at minimum, the rest of this season). Right up there mentally with Limas Sweed - but with talent out the wazoo - not that it matters much at this point.

I don't think we should underestimate what a Taj Boyd/Stephen Jackson combo could do for us right now.

    But we digress.

I think it's more than reckless, he plays like an idiot. He's always chirping after the play and taking ridiculous penalties. What really drives me nuts, is most of the time he's running his mouth when he makes a tackle after the D gives up a big gain. It's embarrassing.
