Sometimes Landry plays well. If we play a safe game and he doesn't make a lot of mistakes we could win next week.

...provided the defense decides to show up.

    QFT.

I'm less a Jones "fan", and more someone who gets tired of myopic fans throwing **** at a backup because he isn't a HOFer.

Our defense doesn't know what a turnover or sacking the QB is so forget about it!

Not with a cement lock on home field to play for! Brady won't have a bad day....ne NEVER does against us...look it up!!! Gronk and Bennett probably will combine for 300 yards receiving and 3-4 TD's!

I take the hit. I got his back. He is a Steeler and far from the worst to ever pull on the uniform.

How many times does Landry Jones have to prove to you all that he is not an nfl caliber qb?!
Does anyone remember last year? Ok, even if that's too far back to remember
...Does anyone remember his pre season play?
Reality is real...so, why go on being delusional and thinking that his bad play will change?
    End of game...season over

Seems to me that Dallas and New England have pretty darn good backup QBs, and then there's us. Landry Jones sucks. He's not going to light anything up except our blood pressure.

Exactly. Its not like we are going into this not knowing what we have with Landry. We have had YEARS to see it and realize that he sucks.

Ben is more vulnerable to injuries in his latter years with bodies in his lap yet this org. continues believing with Ben there's no need for a competent #2. When Ben went down i ran out of the house and headed to the nearest Wine & Spirits and bought the strongest fire water available. After returning the wife looked into the bag and said, did you forget Brady's coming to town (silents) wife then said.. is the keys in the truck? Landry Jones just may get the most running yards this week in reverse. Game 7 nothing short of cataclysmic. Love me some Steelers but hate watching a throw on 3rd & 1 did you hear me coach!!!

I don't have faith in him to get the job done, no. Doesn't mean that I won't hope he proves me wrong though.
My issue is with those suggesting that they go run heavy with the gameplan. Of course they should, but this is also something that every team will know too. The backup QB isn't that good. They'll probably stack a minimum 8 in the box unless the Steelers go at least 4 wide. Any opposing team will dare him to throw. And if the Steelers have any chance of winning with Ben out, that's exactly what they're going to have to do.

Brady typically has a bad day when the opposing DC confuses him. As much as I hope it can happen, do you believe our D is up to that challenge?

Yeah that is pretty much it... the defense needs to play well and be aggressive... Brady doesn't have "off" games on his own accord.

Will we be healthy next week? When are we getting Hayward and Shazier back?

Anyone that doesn't support Jones this week is a true Bandwagon fan. Not saying he is going to light it up all of a sudden but I will definitely be rooting for him.

I will always support the Black N Gold no matter who our players are on the field.

I think we will all be rooting for him, but you got to admit he stinks and is not an NFL QB even as a back up.

How well Landry plays depends on how well the offensive line plays!

I just saw him throw a pass on third down and one yard to go and besides being a soft wobbly pass there was no one within 30 ft of the passed ball when it landed. It had nothing to do with the offensive line.

Even Bell said today in an interview that they (players) have to give him confidence. To me, he has no confidence. And shocked that the coaches don't see that in him and even more shocked to have him passing in that situation.

Yeah, but heres the thing; Ben has not had a complete season 9 out of the 13 years in the burg. Now if they picked Landry with that in mind, cool. But the results have been not good. As Ben gets older, there needed to be more thought into a back up/ replacement, especially with the punishment Ben takes. Maybe that's what Grad was for, but he gets injured every year also. Look at the Favre/ Rodgers and the Romo/ Prescott situations, especially the latter. Oft injured QB, second round sleeper QB.

I'll be rooting hard for Jones, but I don't have confidence that he will deliver. In my view we've neglected the backup QB position since Batch retired (I think Grad is mediocre as well). Hopefully Ben only misses Sunday's game.

Of course I'll be rooting for him. I've rooted for them all over the years - Malone, Brister, you name it. But that doesn't mean that I'm so blind behind my black and gold goggles that I think we have much of a shot at winning against NE this week. I could be wrong and hope that I am, but only a fool of a DC and head coach would go into this game against us without assuming we're going heavy with Bell & Williams and not plan accordingly. And Bellichik is no fool. A cheater, yeah... but no fool.

That said, I don't think that a loss or two right now is going to completely derail our season. No one else in the North is exactly lighting it up, either. Everyone needs to take a breath. We'll do what we usually do and try to make up the wins on the back end of the season.

If the Steelers players go into this game with the "Dear in the headlights" effect and lay down for Brady and the patriots.. then shame on them!!! Your leaders down. But it takes more than one man to make a team so instead of throwing in the white flag go out and play inspired for 60 minutes and walk away knowing you gave it your best shot because ben will be back after the bye along with other players then Let's roll!!!!
