I'm sure it's to keep teams from stashing players.

I agree, still doesn't fit the bill of protecting players though when you get down to the nitty gritty of it.

True, but you know teams like the Patriots and Cowboys would manipulate it.

Seems like Ramon Foster is a go for Sunday, is that confirmed?

If he practices tomorrow he should be a go for Sunday.

Even if he's not I feel fine with Finney though. Plus having Bell back is great because he's such a patient runner that he can just stand behind Finney until he becomes a good blocker and then when he does Bell will burst through the seam and be gone.

I have felt fine with Finney since last year.

Had he not been injured on the final play of the Carolina preseason game, Finney would have made the final 53.

Okay, Foster is back, but Gilbert and Harris are both out. Come on Hubbard, you need to play above the level we have seen from you thus far.

No Nix either, so that's another piece of the blocking puzzle gone.

I hope Haley has put together a good quick hitting game plan.

yea he did. hubbard isn't as bad as most make him out to be. they go by preseason where this guy has to learn 5 different spots across the line and expect him to play like a full time starter at each of them. i've been a hubbard backer for a while and he has come a long way for a guy that had never played the interior prior to coming here. no not all pro but he's a value to us. good job.

I like how the nfl.com write up on the Ravens game mentions how injuries were problematic for them, and how their o-line was 'makeshift' as a result, and how that was a big contribution to their loss.

The fact that Ben had all day to throw against a line we were worrying about earlier in the week speaks volumes for Munch.

I just read the DeCastro X-Factor blog by TTF and I believe Williams had a sack yesterday. Did DeCastro give that up?

PFF has Hubbard as the top-graded OT for Week 5!

    Christopher Hubbard, OT, Pittsburgh Steelers
Without their starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert versus the Jets Sunday, the Steelers could have had a problem, but Hubbard in his place was excellent in Pittsburgh’s win. He didn’t allow a single pressure over 52 pass-blocking snaps, joining the interior trio in shutting down the Jets pass-rush, while enjoying some good run-blocking snaps against the big men of their defensive front too. For a stand-in starter, the Steelers couldn’t have asked for any more.

And then they fired their OC marc trestman and replaced him with their QB coach mornhinweg, I wonder how thats going to fix their injuries and makeshift line, of course hairball never has a problem with throwing his coaches under the bus.....

I have to admit, I was really worried about Hubbard starting, but he played quite well. Now, one game does not a career make, but it was a nice start. Well done Hubbard.

Am I the only one who sees shades of Kelvin Beachum with Chris?

Granted.. it is one game.. but upon further analysis.. both play a near identical style of football.

I didn't analyze the OL at all. Who and why did they struggle against the Dolphins?

Wide 9 strikes again I am afraid.

This is not the first time this year though the team has struggled against the formation. Against the Eagles, we got pulverized.

The most interesting part is that the Dolphins had inferior personnel to run the defense sans Ndamukong Suh. Cameron Wake and Mario Williams are not what they used to be and Andre Branch is primarily for rotational purposes.

The issue has been the interior offensive line. To beat the Wide 9, you have to win on the inside. None of the interior players did their job; a particular person of interest no less.

No coach is going ton throw themselves under the bus unless that coach is successful and admits fault with himself.

... neither of which are John Harbaugh led teams. They play tough.... but what else?
