So we get steeler hater Dan Fouts for an announcer again, cant they find an unbiased announcer for steeler games anymore???

 

As always... Steeler game is televised in my county. Glad I don't have to buy Sunday Ticket.

 

I'd like to know who the genius is that decided northern Oregon would want to see Miami/Tennessee.... what, because Mariota was a Duck? Wheaton was a Beaver and he's playing on a WINNING team....

i can't stand 1 oclock games
and if im in Tn when the titans have their bye it doesn't matter because the Steelers ply at 4 25 that week

 

1pm games are the best, IMO. Win or lose after a prime time game, I'm pretty much a zombie at work the next day.

Growing up in San Diego, I was amazed when I was in Chicago in '94 at the beginning of the football season. I still don't know how y'all in those time zones can START watching a game at 2030 hrs.

 

well sob i got the minnasota game, crap

 

There seems to be a simple formula for me over the past several years.

If I don't buy Sunday Ticket I get hardly any Steeler games locally.

If I shell out the money I get nearly every one of them all season long.

Looks like I hiked up my bill for nothing this season.

So far, the only time I was able to watch the Steelers on NFL ticket is when they were abused by Philly and kicked off the nationally televised broadcast. Nobody can say that I am not a die hard Steeler fan having watched that garbage to the final whistle.

 

I think Collinsworth and Simms are worse.

 

The other night my wife commented about how much she thinks Collinsworth loves the Steelers. And then there is the paranoia that many have for various different announcers. Personally, I can't think of a single announcer who doesn't pretty much call it the way the game is going. Some are just more exciting to listen to.

 

I just got tired of hearing fouts whine about how the bengals got robbed on that fumble for the rest of the game...........

 

Simms is the most anti-Steeler announcer there is. Collinsworth is not that bad, IMO. He actually likes the Steelers and that's weird considering he played for the Bengals.

Simms and Nance are the biggest Brady/Patriots/Belichick ball washers I've ever witnessed. I've never seen two announcers that were so "homer-ish" over a team in professional sports.

 

I too don't generally mind any of the announcers that do the games. That being said, I'd be okay if Simms wasn't in the booth any longer. He sounds completely lost sometimes.
Mike Holmgren was doing the game with Ian Eagle last night on the radio. He seemed lost too, but then again I don't know how long he's been doing games, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
The thing I'm happiest about though is that CBS got rid of Shannon Sharpe a couple years back. I couldn't understand a damn word that came out of his mouth.
