Pouncey RT ?

Just read that Pouncey was taking reps at RT today in practice.

 

Hopefully just learning for an emergency situation.

Saw a Q&A with Barry Foster today and he was talking about how he loved having Dawson pull from the center position and lead block for him. Wouldn't that be something to see Pouncey pulling right to help on the end of the line.

 

I got no gripes with that thorn... Pretty sweet watching Pouncey pull and road grading for bell last week.

We got options for the right but the cupboard is getting thin. Be interesting to see what formulates this weekend, and hope like a mean bastard that we don't suffer more casualties

It makes sense if Foster is ready to go. Foster at LG Finney at C and Pouncey at RT sounds better to me than Foster,Pouncey,Hubbard.

 

Kind of shows what they think of Hubbard

 

i saw pouncey would be an emergency RT only. finney would move to center then. foster is said to be 50-50 right now. wallace is still out. harris is unknown. feiler may be moved up which would require a move from the 53. nix practicing is a good sign for protection though. i'd expect grimble or feiler if moved up to be help on the right side. we shall see today if they make a move.

 

Probably more about not having any back up plan at RT if Hubbard were to get injured. I don't think they are going to start Pouncey at RT.

Also I know it's out of position for Pouncey too, but Hubbard really isn't a tackle. We have Hawkins Harris and Gilbert all injured right now. We don't have too many other options

at least he played tackle all through college. pouncey didn't. hubbard has been playing some tackle here as well. he had a small sample last year and as a tackle TE role that adams played. anyway he will have help over there.

 

Finney's natural position is at center, Finney started 52 games at center for kansas state......

 

I thought Foster practiced fully yesterday?

 

I like it. Our All-Pro LG ... Big Red... A number of years ago moved to LT due to injury and made the probowl as an LT.

All they're doing is covering all their bases so to speak.

In my world I'd move Hubbard to LG, Finney to Center and Pouncey to RT. Why? Because Hubbard is just horrible at OT but decent in a box at OG. Pouncey is all world OL and Finney is no Stranger to center and is proving playing on the line in the NFL is Not Too big for him.

yes. so is harris and gilbert. they said ramon should play but he was 50-50. that leaves either him starting or finney and the other the only backup.

 

I knew the others but wasn't sure on Wallace just remember reports a few weeks back. Thanks!!!

 

So, am I correct that we're going into this game with only 1 reserve O lineman? That seems a little nuts.
