After last night who still thinks Bell and Williams should get equal playing time?

    Uhh, I do.

Hell yes I think they should. Less wear and tear on him! I'm tired of Tomlins' run the wheels off of them approach. Keep him relatively healthy down the stretch run, so that when you do need to run the wheels off to win, he's there.

How many times has he made it into the playoffs?

    Me.

Bell has not completed a full season in a while. DeAngelo has done very well in his absence.

Considering that this team is built to score in multiple ways... having as many options as possible is not a bad thing.

No way you give them equal playing time. I'd be ok with DWill getting 20-25% , but that's it.
Love DWill, but Bell is on a whole other level.

I wouldn't give them equal time, but I'd still give DWill a hefty chunk.

Glenn, You already know how I have felt about this going on 2 seasons now. I'd even have them on the field at the same time for a few plays a game. We have a two headed monster which would drive defensive coordinators nuts. 8-10 carries a game for Williams and the rest for Bell. Both of them have great catching ability and can line up anywhere from the back field to the slot to wide out. Why not use all the tools that you have?

All I want to see is more multiple back sets of course the overwhelming majority of touches goes to bell, however I think it'd be a sweet wrinkle to add the the repertoire. But you still got to mix it up #keepemguessing

Lets be fair guys, Bells injuries haven't come from wear and tear, he's getting his knees blown out.

Of course we want a healthy Bell for the playoffs but have to win the games to get there and Bell gives us the best chance to do that. Splitting touches is not the best way to win games, IMO.

What would really blow my mind is an old throw back to the wing T with DW, Bell, and French biscuit back there... Screw the wildcat

I don't want a split... 80-20 and multi back alignments to keep things relevant and keep teams guessing

Yup, I have no problem getting them both on the field, they even lined Bell up as a WR yesterday, I don't recall seeing that before but maybe I am having a brain fart.

But Bell should have far more touches than Dwill. 80/20 sounds about right.

Nice problem to have especially with DW being a pro about it.

I loved some of those formations with both of them on the field Sunday night.

I believe Bell has split out to WR several times over the last couple seasons.

Yep. People keep mentioning Bell's injuries, but he has never been injured from wear and tear. In fact, if you read his scouting profile, one of his strengths is he can handle large amounts of carries without ever getting injured. He's been injured due to hits directly to his knees. He is not injury prone

He had a foot injury his rookie year. I remember that one guy Hineswardhof calling him Tinker Bell. Anyone remember that guy?

I agree shaner.... Let's hope the accidents don't make him prone to injury. Guy came in known as a solid ass workhorse. Hope he keeps it up and stays away from the crops

Yep, lisfranc sprain. Again, typically nothing to do with usage and more so due to being stepped on or pivoting but having the cleats get stuck. An injury is an injury, but in Bell's case, there's no history of injuries due to heavy usage

Yeah his injury history should read "hurt by psychotic thug named Burfict".

I'm not a Burfict supporter or apologist or anything like that but you have to admit that he is easily a top 5 ranked LB in this league. Maybe even best overall. The guy is a natural at the position. He constantly has double digit tackles, passes broken up, Int's, Forced Fumbles, fumble recoveries, takes great angles and is rarely out of position. He would be a huge upgrade to any team in the league including the Steelers.

That being said, he told the media that he has no intention of changing his game. If that's the case then he will continue to see suspensions and multiple fines. He would have been better suited playing in the 90's rather than Roger Gooddells bubble wrapped NFL.

I hated the way he tackled LeVeon and for that reason alone I'm glad he's not on our team but it worries me even more playing him 2 or 3 times a season, especially if he says he's not going to change his style.:hijacked::frustrated:

Here is the problem with splitting carries between them. Dwill can have a good run here a good run there but he is like Bettis he needs 4 quarters of play to get stronger and wear guys out. Bell looks good if not great in the first in the second and the rest of the game and his type of play isn't dependant on touches and tiring out the d. So the splitting isn't going to be effective for Dwill in all honesty.

I am still in favor of giving Williams at least 8 touches a game. I believe he has earned that. Plus it keeps defenses off balance with their preparation.
