I'm a firm believer that this team can beat anybody or lose to anybody, any given sunday.

When they seem to win, they show up in a big way. Your going to have to play a near perfect game to beat Brady and Co.

You got to keep the Pats to 25 or less and plan on scoring 25 or more. Not an easy task.

Steelers have only beaten the Patriots 3 times since Roethlisberger took over at QB in '04.

Halloween '04... Patriots got blindsided by rookie Ben at Heinz.
2008... Brady was on IR, we beat the Patriots with QB Matt Cassell at Foxboro.
2011... most impressive of all victories, Brady at QB. Defense played out of their minds. Arians called a brilliant, ball-control game on O to keep the ball out of Brady's hands. Heinz Field.

Steelers have never beaten the Patriots with Brady at QB in Foxboro

This doesn't even count the beatdown of the Steelers by Brady and Patriots on opening day in '02. Kordell Stewart and the Steelers were owned in every facet of that game. Brutal loss.

Obviously the Pats have had the better of this matchup but the past doesnt mean anything, different team, different players.

I dont care where we play any team, they can beat anyone. Ideally you dont want to play the Pats at home but yes, the offense that showed up against Washington and KC can beat them in Foxboro.

I have a feeling we are going to beat them in a few weeks. The Philly drubbing may have been the wake up call they needed, have to bring your A game each and every week.

Aye. Ryan had never beaten the pats in foxboro either. Who needs history?

It will be interesting to see how the pats rebound. The Bills outplayed them, and while there were mistakes from the rookie QB, that wasn't what lost the game.

Pats could bounce back and be unstoppable, or they could put on more weak shows.

So then you can take that Sunday off from watching the game, right since you already know the outcome!

YES...I remember this game very clearly. I'd like to think or believe that our coaches and especially Tomlin will understand that this game plan is the absolute best way to beat the Patriots and of course it doesn't hurt to get pressure on Brady up the middle!!! If our coaches can't figure this out, well why are they our coaches then!

We're still three weeks away. I have always said that it's not a matter of who you play but when you play them. It would have been nice to have the Pats on the schedule YESTERDAY! Then it would likely be a W. In any case, there are games to be played before that one, and it will be interesting to see how well Artie Burns develops between now and then and if the offensive line can be healthy. I would hate to go into Foxboro all banged up.

No better time for Ben to get that monkey off his back then in a few weeks at home. Hopefully we come in healthy get the win and roll on with a purpose. In the same spirit, I hope our coaches put in a little extra homework and change things up a bit should there be a part 2 later in the season. Hard to beat them asses once but twice in a season with the same game plan is asking for trouble if history serves me right.

Anyhow enough looking forward, beat the Jets!

The Steelers will beat the Pats in a shootout, I could see Ben having one of those 4-5 TDs games.

The only thing I can say about this is that IF there's a silver lining to losing it might be that we can get revenge in the playoffs. My thing is that it's probably really rare to beat Bill twice in one year so there might even be a case to be made that winning in week 7 would put the odds even more against us. I know it sounds crazy but I just wouldn't be surprised if there's not some crazy stat showing that Bill has never lost to a team in the regular season and then in the post. I want to win both but I might be able to live with a week 7 loss if it puts history more on our side. I say our best shot to win this game will be to run Bell early and often and keep Brady and Gronk on the bench.

How great would it be if Brady comes back and plays terrible? Hey, I can dream can't I?

I know some will disagree but Brady is a slightly above average QB, plain and simple. If he played for any other team he wouldn't fair as well, it is the system and all one needs to do is look at Jimmy Garappolo's success with the same system or even back to Matt Cassel who looked like the 2nd coming until he went to another team. That said, the Steelers never had great corners in the modern era and the system that NE uses is a west coat type that is designed to kill zone coverage. When the Steelers won in 2011 there were 3 factors, the offense used the same type of dink and dunk as NE didn't have great CBs either and nobody dropped passes. The second deal was the CBs we had were playing man to man and were ok in short yardage, and the final thing was the pass rush, we disrupted timing patterns and it came fast enough that receivers were still covered when pressure came. The defense we have now can't stop NE, even with everyone healthy and it is because the lack of a true edge rusher as Silverback is the best the team has but at 38 he can't play every snap. Add to that the poor secondary, KC had 10 dropped passes, the only way are defense gets off the filed is by poorly thrown passes or dropped passes, how many poorly thrown balls is Brady going have with no pressure. We also can't stop the run unless we sell out against it, the last time NE put up 55 with ease, we had to sell out completely to keep from getting torched in the air and that allowed their running back to rack up over 100 rushing with like a 6+ yards per carry average, we just don't have the front to stop it. Now, Cam and Tuitt are beasts but no depth behind them and they will be gassed by the end of the 3rd quarter, it sounds negative but the defense this season shows the lack of talent, the front 7 are a little better than average with very average LBers for the most part and the secondary, I'm sorry to say, is still really bad as we give up so much yardage and eventually a team won't make the same mistakes KC made. The only hope to beat NE would be for the Steelers to score on every possession with 2 point conversions after every score, if we have to kick a FG or end up not scoring on 1 possession, the game is lost as I highly doubt this defense is going to stop NE at all, I hope I'm wrong but it doesn't look good even next week. I hope they can get a good edge rusher and DB of some type in the next draft as I believe it will take 3 to 4 more seasons to rebuild the defense, and if you want to see what good defense looks like, take a look at the Vikings, they don't have much of an offense but their CBs can cover 1 on 1 because the QB averages less than 3 second in the pocket before pressure and that is with a 4 man rush, that is why we had a bad game against Philly, they got pressure quickly with a 4 man rush with 7 in coverage, even the best QBs can't do much with that, ask P.Manning about that, he was unstoppable until the SB when the same thing happened to him against the Seahawks.

I just want to defend steelers a bit here and say, some of those poor passes in the KC game came due to the pressure that smith was getting.

the steelers are in the twilight of Bens career, it is becoming now or never, to assume loss against the pats when it could be the single game to determine hfa is just assanine, I cant wait to play that piece of sh*t of a team at home, but first we need to be 5-1 prior to the contest
