I'm not sure I've ever heard Nickle back though, I probably have. Better them than Rush! As long as we're dating ourselves, it doesn't get better than The Who and Ten Years After!

Nah, I've heard their song. Besides, Geddy Lee's voice makes dogs howl!

I figured y'all were cool since you're Steelers fans. Your taste in music confirms it. This is the right place to be.

OK on Collective Soul... but Candlebox, to me, was a band like Skid Row who was caught between the glam and grunge eras. Skid Row's Slave to the Grind album was good, IMO.

Yes but Alex Lifeson's playing makes ladies howl.(and also guitar nerds from small east TN towns...)

Slave to the Grind was basically showing where that style of music needed to go to (even if grunge hadn't happened). You see a lot of the bands of that era picking up that change of style when they made their comebacks in the 2000s.

"Monkey Business" is an absolute classic, though.

YUP. .. They are for sure. When music was real and lyrics meant something. Props to Geddy Lee and the boys. I cannot believe I read someone actually preferring Nickelback over Rush. WOW

Thanks man! Incredible that a trio can be so loud and powerful sounding. Rush is one of the great trios for sure. Up there with Cream and Hendrix and Double Trouble.

Yes the energy is incredible. The purest of pure .. Neil Peart actually wrote most of Rush music. He is at least imho the best drummer/percussionist ever. Don't want to bore you BFT and I might be givning you more information then you care to know but Neil actually is a writer as well. He lost his daughter and wife both and took time off from the band to tour on a motorbike. The book during or after his journey was called Ghost Rider

Yeah I actually knew about that. He's also the lyricist for the band as well. He's an awesome drummer for sure.

I didn't say I prefer Nickleback. I believe I said that I'm not sure if I've ever heard them. I've definitely heard Rush and I liked them..........the first 10,000 times I heard "Tom Sawyer". I really like their drummer. He's almost as good as Ginger Baker and Keith Moon! You like guitar? Satriani, Alvin Lee, Santana, "Slow Hand"...........I look at Rush much like the Beatles. Great in the beginning but, played. to. death.

I saw Queensryche live in 1984. They opened for Kiss. Love that early stuff.

A lot of four man bands are essentially a trio from an instrument playing standpoint.
Motley Crue and Van Halen come to mind. And pretty much any others who's singer doesn't play an instrument.
As for Rush, for me they're just ok.

David Lee Roth days, yeah, but Sammy could play guitar, didn't he and Eddie both play at the same time while preforming some of the songs?

    Thats awesome!

My best friend is in the music business, he's friends with Sammy, Ive never met him but he said he's the most down to earth cool rockstar you'll ever meet.

On the flip side, he said Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are nuts and among the most difficult.
