I was gonna say you left out Tool but then I saw that you listed them at the bottom. Ok. Problem solved. We can still be friends. LOL!

They are for sure. Now that Maynard is obsessed with wine making it takes even longer for them to make a new album. They done a surprise show last Halloween and came out dressed as Led Zeppelin and played No Quarter. Then they played some "new" stuff which is apparently named "Descending". No one knows if it's just a live jam or if it's from the new project. They done a little mini tour and it sold out in minutes. My wife was gonna get me tix to it but I decided not to go. My buddies went and said it was awesome. You should look up the video of them dressed like Zeppelin. Seeing Maynard in a Robert Plant wig doing the mannerisms is hilarious. Although that is one of the more tame pieces of stage gear he has worn. LOL!

Some of my favourite bands right there.

Hate seeing what's happened to Queensryche now with the splitting into two bands, although Wilton's band sound fairly good. They were basically never the same after Chris Degarmo left.

Yeah Chris was awesome. Tate spitting on them on stage is insane dude. Jet City Woman is my favorite song from them.

I've seen Queensryche live 5 times since 2000. All of the shows were great... but my favorite was in '06 when they performed Operation Mindcrime and Operation Mindcrime 2. The encore was Jet City Woman and Take Hold of the Flame.

Agree... DeGarmo leaving the band had a negative impact on the following albums after he left. The song Tribe from the album Tribe was awesome... and Operation Mindcrime 2 had some good tracks, but overall... they never could match what they did from '84 to '94... The Warning to the Promised Land. Operation Mindcrime is my favorite album of all time. Master of Puppets/ Metallica is a close 2nd.

I guess my favorite album would be a deathmatch between Revolver and Pet Sounds.

*yawn* I'd rank Sgt. Pepper above both of those... if we're talking 1960's. Led Zeppelin II also. Rolling Stones had a couple of good ones before the 70's, too. Pink Floyd was my favorite band of that era... so I don't know what I'm talking about. :icon mrgreen:

I forgot about Faith No More/Mr. Bungle/Tomahawk. Those bands were brilliant compared to Nickelback.

I don't care if they are fans or not. Funny thing, heard on NPR that they got sued by a fan because they plagiarized..... Themselves. A fan played one of their songs overtop of another, and yep, almost the same.

Grew up with the heavy metal bands like Annihilator, Alice In Chains and Sepultura..

.. as such.. sadly.. Nickelback does not affect my personal viewpoint of them already.

Hint? The same as the majority of of the people's vote.

Nickelback is watered-down, radio-friendly grunge with predictable, cookie-cutter song composition.

    Grunge Hierarchy

The best: Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Melvins, Stone Temple Pilots

2nd tier: Bush, Silverchair, Live, Collective Soul

Bottom tier: Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind, Creed and Nickelback

AIC rules. I met Jerry once and he signed my Strat. I love STP as well but never considered them "grunge". Although I nevet put much stock in that term at all because it was just a media term. I just think of them and Soundgarden as straight up hard rock bands.

For me it was: Metallica (80's Metallica... no Bob Rock ****), Megadeth, Anthrax, Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer, Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity

I've seen Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth and COC live. Awesome shows.
