    Hello fellow members of TSF. AskQuestionsLater here with some big news. The 2017 Pro Football HOF is here.. and as per usual.. there are quite a bit of Steelers names. They are as follows:

    Bill Cowher

    Hines Ward

    Joey Porter

    Levon Kirkland

    Alan Faneca

    Quite a list of possible inductees no?

    The rest can be found here:

    Before I go, want to say that I am still disappointed in the absence of Donnie Shell and LC Greenwood.

    I was just sitting here watching this Hall of Fame show on NFL Network and they are talking about players who are beginning their eligibility this year. Hines is one of them and they are trying to say who should get in or who shouldn't. I think the top "lock" for this class is Ladainian. My question is do you think Hines gets in on the first ballot? I personally think he deserves to be in the Hall for sure but is a "first ballot" guy? He retired with all our records and that's saying something since Swann and Stallworth both played here and are both in the Hall. He also played with incredible intensity and toughness and they even changed the rules for him. He was as much of a linebacker as he was a WR. So I think he DEFINITELY deserves to be there BUT does he deserve to go on the first ballot? I say they don't let him in on the first ballot he but does eventually get in. I just hope it doesn't take as long for him as it did for a guy like Andre Reed.

    I JUST started a thread about Hines! LOL! I hadn't heard them talk about Cowher but Cowher DEFINITELY deserves to be there! So does Faneca.

    Very Seldom will a receiver get in on their first try. Heck... look at Jerry Rice. Personally... while I do think he will get in... it will be more than likely the next time..

    For Cowher...man... that is one steep hill to climb for him. Nevermind Jimmy... but Dick as well.

    Alan should get in sooner rather than later. Possibly this year but do not hold your breath on it.

    Porter will more than likely become one on his third attempt.

    Le'Veon waits.... a while...

    You think it takes Cowher a while? No team won more games than the Steelers when he was here and we were a contender a lot of the time. He coached Woodson and Bettis and they are both in. He also coached Hines and Faneca who I think are also bound for Canton. I don't think Faneca gets there before Hines though. I don't know if Peezy makes it there or not. He's one of only a very few players that has 50 sacks and 10 picks but I don't know if he done it "long enough". I mean it took Kevin Greene a pretty long time to get in.

    Faneca is a lock. Will be in within the next year or two. Bank on it. 9-time Pro Bowl + All-Decade Team + 6-time 1st-team All-Pro = HOF Lock.

    I think Hines will have to wait quite a while. Probably gonna have to be a Senior's committee add down the road. I think AB will be in before him -- but I do think he'll eventually get in.

    LC should be a Senior's committee lock within the next few years.
    Donnie Shell after that.

    Cowher might have to wait a while. I'm really surprised he never got back into coaching.

    Kirkland and Peezy = no chance.

    Personally.. I do think Joey may get in before Kirk does. He does have something that boosts his credentials... a ring. Kirk does not.

    Super Bowl wins. How many a coach has usually cements their ticket. If not that, something revolutionary. Dick and Jimmy have both in their own aspects. Chin has the consistency... but does not possess the hardware like Jimmy does nor the contributions like Dick.

    I think the misspelling is confusing Le'Veon Bell with Levon Kirkland

    Tomlinson is a lock. Hines should be. Faneca too. everyone else? A lot of waiting, I think. Eddie George should get in but, I'm surprised at Tiki and Flutie. I loved watching him play but, Doug Flutie?

    Neither of them are getting in. Not even close. Hell, Greg Lloyd has a better shot than either and he's not even on the ballot.

    Lloyd = 3x 1st-team All-Pro and 5 Pro Bowls
    Peezy = 1x 1st-team All-Pro and 4 Pro Bowls
    Kirkland = 2x All-Pro and 2 Pro Bowls

    The one I heard them mention that was the most ridiculous was Bob Sanders. That dude never met an IR he couldn't manage to wind up on. I also don't think Chad Johnson should ever be considered either.

    Yeah I don't think Kirkland ever even sniffs it. I've heard them say that they basically walk in to the room and sit down and say "Ok. Can you talk about the history of football and NOT mention this candidate???" and if they can't make a case for historic significance then they basically don't put them in. They also aren't forgiving of people who were great but stayed hurt a lot. That is why I think Davis still doesn't get in. Sterling Sharpe isn't in there and Shannon has lobbied for him and so have other players. They just don't let you in because of "what might have been".

    Heh. Alien Faneca will go in first. Then Heinz Warner. No Le'Veon Kirkland for a long time if ever. Bill Coward.., not sure when but should be. Joey Portis probably not anytime soon, if ever.

    I was going to post much the same thing. I only see Faneca getting far from this list.
