You don't save face by defining one of the games best deep threats as "not a deep threat". lol

I'm looking forward to the ALL 22 tape tomorrow. Its innaccurate to say we played zone all night. We mixed up our coverages a ton, and that was the number 1 factor in our solid defensive performance. People assume those cushions always mean zone, they don't

Even the Coaches brother Gruden was stating how off the throws from Cousins where ..Guys were open all over the field all night ...Again the zone was at it's best because of no run threat and it still took the skins beating themselves to get the D off the field....AB does great deep work , but he wins at the LOS and with great route running he also has a QB who drops it right in on him..He is light years better than DJ ... Both of those throws came against press at the line and 1 on 1 Coverage had we tried that against DJ the entire game he would have caught for 400 or 500 yards ....Kind of my point again, our guys aren't good enough to press, they can't play zone all that well, and they can't jump with Big WR'S , thus we need some more talent on the field...

a QB's throws are affected by a defense. A defense that is mixing cover shells and off man, a defense that is making pre-snap identifiers hard to read, a defense that is making a QB have to progress through more reads IS GOING TO AFFECT THE QBs play.

Here's the reality. You can't see the good things our defense did, because you're predisposed to a position of "they suck". Our defense has a lot of weaknesses (edge rush being #1). But that shouldn't hinder a keen eye to understanding what they did well last night. If you are complaining about coverage, scheme, or yards against last night, you just don't get it

They ran at a 4.5 YPC. You can take a team out of their running game by holding them to FGs while your offense piles on TDs. Good work coach.

oh look, you recognized how our #1 deep threat was able to beat their Man to Man coverage, but complain about our Zone coverages that kept their deep threat from getting deep.

brilliant. you want our guys to press, but complain that they can't do it. And then you complain that we play zone, when it's successful

No one here takes you seriously right?

I don't care if you take me serious or not...The bottom line to me is we still need better CB'S .....We still need better Safety play ...And yes I am complaining about that zone because we got almost no heat on the QB and missed a bunch of open field tackles...Most NFL Teams will feast against that, when Ross is on the bench and Gay is in the slot I will feel much better until then this Defense will not be very good ...

Yea, we still need better CBs... who the **** doesn't agree with that? The problem is that you misrepresent / misunderstand our defensive performance because it feeds the CB narrative.

I'm glad the TD pass on 4th and 1 worked but, a different momentum and ***** fest had it not worked.

Kids watch these games and what Antonio did, was no call for. Why can't scoring, high fives be enough ?

The Redskins may have made the playoffs last year and what have you but, more challenges to come.
I think with our secondary it could be a long season. Not that they couldn't right the ship. I just see them as our
    only weak link.

I can neither spell or pronounce our left tackles name. I like him, I'm happy he's our starter and he's still learning.
Hopefully he will maintain the good progress.

I have a lot of confidence in our field goal kicker. He looks like he will be around for years.

Jessie James did well. I hope he can develop blocking skills as well as Heath. Anything as well as Heath would be
    high praise for him.

Lots of praise for this team to go all around. Even the secondary despite what I mentioned earlier.

    The good...

We won, in what was fairly impressive fashion, given all of our missing players...
I wasn`t feeling very confident going into this, but they showed they have some depth, and Tomlin/Ben/Porter/Harrison, had them ready to play...
The experience will be valuable to the younger players...

    The bad...

We still struggle to get off the field in 3d and long situations, on Defense, despite when Gruden praised the `Skins for picking up 1st downs against a "Tough Steelers` Defense on 3d and long"...

We all know that has been a recurring theme...

Still WAAAAYYY too many missed tackles by multiple players when they were the first one to the ball...
Leading to some of those conversions...

    The Ugly...

Not much, really, and that`s a good thing...

We got a couple lucky breaks, like Rodger`s TD, and Ben throwing blindly (Once) to AB...

But overall, we didn`t beat ourselves, against a team we expected to beat...

Kind of an ugly start given the first two series` results, but I ain`t complaining...

Every team this week started slow... (Except the Uggles... LOL)...

    Overall, I Got a Feeling...

    If they don`t get cocky...

    PITTSBURGH`S GOIN TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!...

I Know that`s presumptious after week 1, but we didn`t kill ourselves with penalties, and that is goal #1 on my wishlist...

    Along with staying healthy, but...

I got some Black and Gold glasses on!!!!

If we can get to Dalton for 1/2 of the 7 sacks he took last week...

    We win that game!!!!

    GO STEELERS!!!:herewego!:

A better pass rush will help the CBs and Safety and make them more effective.

you are right they don't mean that usually. cushions are used mostly to give clearance for DB's to work and not get caught up together to negate pick plays run by offenses.

I was going to but his blocking was a bit on the poor side. I think he gave up a sack or at least a QB hit. His overall play wasn't bad..... He's a good receiver.... I'm spoiled by Heaths blocking.

I agree with you on them going all the way.
Hope we are right. I have $2,000.00 on them to win the SB at 10-1 and $3,000.00 on them to win more than 10 game this year.
Life is a lot more fun when you are able to bet with house money.
Of course I had the Steelers winning the SB last year for $1,000.00 at 25-1 and ALMOST was able to collect on that.
I am trying a new plan weekly in addition to my normal bet of $500.00 on the Steelers. That is betting $100.00 on every game and taking the under. I have done that for the last 3 weeks and have won 35 of 48 games which adds up to $2,200.00 winnings.
If that keeps working I will need to move my target goal up a little higher, which I have done twice this year already.
Again, it is just easier playing with house money to try to raise as much as I can for Best Friends Animal Shelter.
Let's hope we are right on the Steelers winning number 7 this year.

    Take a tums

So, with 4:30 left in the game, and with a 2 score lead, you would have preferred to pull our starters, go 3 and out, and give the ball back with 3:45 left?

Glad you're not the head coach... instead, Tomlin kept his starters in, went straight down the field, and scored a TD to put the game away.

    yep
Tomlin did exactly what he preaches against
    STYLE POINTS
seems you are of little faith when it comes to back ups
give them playing time and they are better backups and they are starter material when the call comes
    EZ PEEZY

    4 30 left
i would have put them in earlier
the momentum was on our side the game was wrapped up
no way no how Washington was going to conjure up a comeback
It's time for the ones who need the time to be right when the time comes

Tomlin did exactly what he's supposed to do, win.

Your approach to killing momentum is brilliant, keep it up.... I sure wish Tomlin understood Football 101 as good as you.
