If I had to guess, you played or coached or both at college level, at least.

Wouldn't be surprised if you did something at pro level.

I would be surprised if what you've displayed is self taught.

I not embarrassed a bit.. I made a simple statement ...You have no true Football experience , why would that make me feel some type of way ? If you had some you would say ..So I will assume I am correct in that regard..

As I stated you do have knowledge of the schemes and terms , but you lack real Football to match with it IMO...If you have some forgive me , but I think you get most of your opinions from watching,, not from past experience ..Not a bad thing I guess just the reason me and you will probably never see the same things ...I look at things much different than the Fantasy break down people they have their place in Football as well...

Doubtful. Some people don't like the "hey, look at me, I'm such and such" approach.

You continue to be wrong about very basic things. Your opinion of my experience means very little. I'll leave you with the crutch, because internet resumes and anecdotes about your high school are meaningless.

I actually like to know peoples back grounds it helps me to understand where they are coming from better ...I still might not agree , but if you have knowledge there is no reason to hide where you obtained that knowledge...

Cincy has good running backs, lets try to hold their running game

down and limit big plays to AJ Green. Steelers need to keep Ben clean, (Gino Atkins) No turnovers.

I like the Steelers in this home contest.

Why not play zone? This is a legitimate question because I liked zone coverages that we used against Washington. Proved to be very effective,

Cinci is a different animal than the Skins who are something like 1-14 in their last 15 Monday night games at home. Get the big boy hats on and get ready to rumble.

Because the passer will hit guys in stride more this week which will make the poor tackling look even worse ....Our DB'S will have a hard time getting the bigger WR'S on the ground after the catch ..The starting guys are 6'4 210 , 6'3 210, 6'2 197, 6'1 201..Both TE'S are big to one at 6'3 and one at 6'6 .. To much size to give free releases we will have a very hard time getting these guys on the ground...

On any vertical routes all our guys will be outmatched with taller guys running in there zone , we will need some contact up front to slow them down and give the DL some time to get some heat ...If we let these big guys come off the line free it will be a long day for this D ....

honestly if we play zone like we did against skins, I think cincy will pick us apart. hate to say it but in the regular season andy is pretty good. Our db's cant play man cause they suck lol. I feel we are going to be blitzing every now and then while keeping everything in front of us (soft coverage) hoping for the drops, turnovers, pass rushing getting home, and if all else fails fg's. Steelers need to control the tempo, a running game needs to be established... lets have 2014 results vs bengals.

This again, is a completely backwards understanding.

First, Ross/Gay don't have the ability to jam big WRs at the line and disrupt their routes. Asking players to play to their weaknesses... is basically stupid. It's like asking Dri Archer to run a dive play at the goal line... he might actually score once in a blue moon, but if you are using Dri Archer, you should call plays that match his skill set.

Second, Ross/Gay are going to be far more effective tackling the lower torso, than jamming the upper body.

So it's very odd that you want our undersized corners to try to jam the opponents larger WRs, because of a fear of their ability to get them to the ground.

They are going to mix up their looks again (contrary to popular belief, the Steelers ran man looks on Monday). But to think that the path to victory is lining up in man press against AJ Green with Gay/Cockrell, while providing a double over the top... is basically asking to be beat with 15 yard gains per play, instead of 7 per play.

    oh boy

i guess the game plan should be to emulate our 10 minute scoring drive against Washington on every possession against Cincin.
Our defense on the field for less time , strip sacks or forced fumbles on 1st down for their offense and i see our offense on the field a total of 5 times at most.
    no need for zoneman

The longer the routes take then the better chance for pressure ..The more pressure we get the better off we will be ..These CB'S are going to have to get physical at some point ..So your take is give them the free catch and then try..Which I say is all wrong..And my take is disrupt the timing and give the front guys a chance to impact the game...Did we get any pressure at all last game ?

Did we give up any passing TDs? Did we give up any down field splash plays?

My take is not to "give them the free catch", my take is that when the QB diagnosis correctly, and the catch is made, be in position to tackle. Contrary to your press beliefs, the opponent is going to catch passes.

Disrupting timing is a skill. Being able to press and leverage a WR off his route is a skill. These are not skills Gay/Cockrell possess at a level commensurate with winning a matchup with AJ Green.

Everytime they lose that press matchup off the line, Green is immediately open within less than a second of the snap, with plenty of YAC to the safety.... . You aren't giving your defense time to "get there", every time you lose that press you are taking time AWAY from your front/blitz. In Off Man and Zone, AJ has to eat up the yardage first, giving the front time. If the route is designed short, you tackle the catch.

If/When Artie and/or Sean are ready for a full complement of the playbook, and prove their abilities, we can talk about press as a core component of our scheme. But with Gay/Cockrell out there, we will play to their strengths.

There's a reason we will see very little press Sunday, it's because Tomlin/Butler know what they are doing.

Good example of mixing Man and Zone last week:

I think the difference now is we have a much better line and Ben can stay in the pocket.

Plus, with BA gone, Ben has finally developed into a smarter passer.

The guy is rattled every time he sets foot on the field against the Steelers. Have you ever noticed how poorly he plays against them?

Gameplan is to call SWAGGIN U and see if he a game left in him. He could shutdown Green pretty good in most games :)
