    The good:
    1.
    we won
    2. Ben and AB are in mid season form
    3. Deangelo Williams stepped up once again
    4. O-line very solid despite minor hiccups
    5. Run defense was very solid
    6. Eli Rogers is going to surprise quite a few defenses this yr.
    7. Sammy Coates will break a few this season

    The bad:
    1.
Still giving up too many passing yds.
    2. Minimal pressure on cousins
    3. While coates had his moments, he still had some early drops on easy passes...... he still needs work on his concentration
    4. Still missing too many tackles

    The ugly:
    1.
I could do without seeing AB twerk again

    Good- Quarters 2-4
The entire offense. Can't single out one guy for not playing great.

    Bad- 1st Quarter
    Timmons and Sean Davis Tackling
Not getting on a easy fumble. Then allowing Garcon to advance it. GEEZ oh man.
    No Pressure on QB.

If he's twerking in the end zone, I want to see him twerk another 30 times this year.

Butler called a conservative game, they didn't get after Cousins much.

... which led to only 16 points against.

They made the game hard for Cousins by flooding him with zone coverages. They made him work, they made him take 5 yards at a time. It's called gameplanning.

The defense gave up 16 points, held the opponent to meaningless rushing yards, and had 2 interceptions... and yinzers are complaining about the "conservative" approach

#86 Jordan Reed was gaining chunks of yards every time he caught a pass from Cousins in the 1st quarter. I was frightened... but then the Steelers adjusted well.

I wasn't complaining, I was stating a fact. I could tell Butler's gameplan was to play a lot of zone coverage and not give up the big play. I will take a win like this anytime.

actually reading up on the redskins forum pregame, they thought pittsburgh would go blitz heavy, in which Cousins eats it up. We totally changed our gameplan and rushed 3-4 and redskins couldn't adjust. It was awesome gameplanning imo. No sacks but it gets the win.

Just imagine if our front 4 was nasty and we actually had people who could cover...

The good - D Will, Ben, AB, The outlaw, Haley and Ben playcalling.

The bad - JJ - He was once again a non factor and should be benched. Soft zone coverage with 10 yard cushions but it was all bend and don't break which isn't that bad but will be against better QB's.

The ugly - Twerk was just weird.

When I put that down in my losers section, while I did say one blitz would not hurt.. whatever equates to a win should be employed; style points being icing on the cake.

Timmons looked like he is getting old and slow .....Our Safeties still too much space and poor tackling..CB's even in zone coverage too much cushion and poor angles ...No heat or blitzing , i wonder if it was the plan or out of fear ? If out of fear Teams with a big WR can bust this zone apart ..

In all our drives it was a punt, int, td,td,fg,td,punt,td,td and in theirs it was a fg,fg,downs, int,fg,td,downs, int lol. Take away their garbage td and it should be 9 points, also JH int shouldnt have counted

    Tomlin game plans?
There's a lot of people around here that claim he just wings it.

    1. NFL.com hasn't posted the coaches tape yet. Any comment on safety play without coaches tape view is basically nonsense talk.

    2. What specific plays are you taking about with regard to poor angles by CBs?

    3. What do you mean "I wonder if it was the plan"? Of course it was the plan.

    4. Why should we fear bigger WRs against zone? Zone forces short completions. Size is irrelevant, speed/agility/YAC ability is what's dangerous.

#1 I don't even need Coaches tape to see that the Safety play is still not close enough to the catch...
#2 A lot of poor angles Crowder ,Reed, and Jackson all got a lot of yac...
#3 Was it the plan because it was the plan they wanted to run or was it the next best plan because we couldn't play any man ?
#4 A big WR can bust the top of Zones which is the Steelers big problem...When WR'S go deep it really becomes man to man deep we don't have anyone back there to high point deep passes ...

Busting a zone underneath is not the best way , that is the way you beat it ...To bust it you test the sidelines deep which forces the deep middle to help the deep 3rd.s if that happens then you have a huge hole in the middle and then comes the crossing routes, seam routes, slant patterns and such you know the ones where guys can get lots of yac ..

Wow, there is so much wrong here, it's going to take awhile to unpack

    1. Um, simply put, yes you do. You need coaches tape to determine what coverage the safeties were playing. Without identifying what zone/coverage they had, you cannot judge their location at the catch.

    2. Jackson and Reed getting YAC against Timmons does not represent the CBs. Please try again, maybe with a specific Cb play.

    3. It was the plan because it was a young inexperienced QB. Why risk splash plays against in man, when you can smother a team in zone and hold.

    4. We played deep shells with our safeties all night (mostly cover 3 and 6). We weren't busted deep because we game planned to eliminate it. how many deep passes did deep pass specialist demean Jackson catch? Yea, zero. Because we took it away, and you seem confused on whether our successful approach was actually our planned approach

Your last paragraph is bizarre. Your generalization of zone is the failure point of your analysis.

Jackson is not a big 1 on 1 threat on the outside you will see the Bengals use the deep ball a bunch .. The Skins actually beat this D bad enough to win they just never finished the drives and with basically 0 run threat ...A Team than has a run threat and a real deep threat will give this D fits we need new blood and we need it fast..

Yea desean Jackson isn't a threat deep on the outside

The bolded is an indicator of how little you get this stuff...

Hint: if you're not finishing drives, you're not actually beating the defense.

He's trying to save face because his prediction was way off this game :lolol:

Steelers destroyed them and did exactly what they intended to on defense. People get hung up on yardage.

I get it a bunch..Wasn't the D that stopped most of those drives it was poor throws by the QB or stupid penalties mostly ...What is DJ like 5'10 190 or something that's not the type of sideline WR I am talking about is like AJ what 6'4 230 or something ? Our CB'S and DB'S are weak and they have big problems with bigger guys ..They don't jump very well and they time their jumps horribly...This shows how little you understand about different types of deep threats...I will explain speedy guys one's who use speed no true threat to the deep sidelines even though he still got behind the shell...Big ones who can beat the guy at the poa when the deep ball arrives .A true threat on sideline routes deep..

Poor throws by a QB who was struggling to process complex coverages, and wasn't simply allowed to work with man to man. You think Cousins went from the most accurate QB in the league last year (at home), to shorting throws because of... magic? or maybe it was because of... you know, our ****ing defense.

Antonio Brown is 5'10... how's his sideline / deep work?
