I don't know you can say "I know its Washington" I saw a lot of ESPN pregame people took Wash....I honestly expected a clean sweep for Pitt in the picks.....Washington seemed to have some juice I didnt know about.

Whether it's Ben or whether it's Haley or likely a combination of both, I love what I am seeing.

    KEEP BEN HEALTHY!

    He is making it happen.

When you've been in the league as long as Ben has and have as much talent as he does, the game just slows down so much for them, he keeps getting better and better.

    Keep him healthy, indeed!

I think everyone is losing perpective here. Washington is not a good team. They will be lucky to avoid being the bottom of their division. The steelers offense looked good but the D is bad. The only saving grace is they were playing a really bad offense in Washington. The missed tackles by the D must be fixed to be able to beat the elite teams.

I texted my buddy and told him that it was scary that we could put up 30 without even having Bell or Bryant. If they weren't such idiots man people would be doing whatever they could to get out of playing us in the post! We still need to tighten up on d as well but we really don't have our whole starting unit out there yet so I'm trying not to be too rough on them. We do need to start a little quicker. That first quarter was pretty ugly. Hopefully that was just the first of the year jitters.

I agree our defense does not look good at all. BUT I disagree that the Skins are that bad. The skins did have issues. They were the only thing stopping their offense tonight. (penalties and miscues) I think they are at very least an 8-8 team. But I think they have a real shot at winning their division AGAIN this season. They've got some play makers. Their O-line is good. Cousins isn't horrible by any means. They only gave up 27 sacks last year. To put that in perspective the Browns gave up 53. Their real issue is run defense.

I was very skeptical for week 1. Skins are okay but we've had some real issues starting well in the past.

But... while Bryant isn't coming back this year, Bell, Wheaton, and hopefully Green are. And it would be great if Burns, Golson, and Dupree could eventually add something to the passing D. All of that and we close well most years; things come together later in the season. Could be the start of something great.

Uh no I don't think so. I said the Skins are a solid team and could win their division. I also said they screwed themselves during this game offensively with penalties and mistakes. You can be a solid team and play a crap game. When they weren't getting pre snap penalties they were going down the field with ease.

My mistake I thought you had said that Cousins wasn't a good QB in one thread and changed it to he was in this one.

I think Gruden sized it up about right tonight - 3 man rush and 8 man zone D virtually throughout which allowed plenty of gains between the 20's but only 1 TD. So it worked. I expect a completely different D next week vs Carrot Top with blitzes galore which Cincy seems vulnerable to as seen vs the Jets. Can't imagine how smooth our offense should be with a home crowd after seeing what they did on the road against 70K screamers (assuming there were 10K Steeler fans there to round out the 80K in attendance).

Well, to keep things in perspective.... It's just week 1..... Let's see if they have consistency and score 38 in weeks 17-21.

The defense may not be where we want them right now, but they did contribute to the win last night. Let's give them a few weeks (just like with every other team) to get back into full speed game shape to see where they go. Even after camp and preseason, it's still tiring playing at full speed in the warmer months when the season first begins.

As far as the offense, I'm feeling like others have said. Really happy with what we saw last night despite not having Wheaton or Martavis. Can't wait to see what these guys do this year as they gel further.

Interesting. Any team that won their division is considered a credible threat; regardless of how those circumstances played out. Washington is a good football team.

Washington's issue is that Josh Norman did not cover Antonio Brown. When things did not go Josh's way, he resorted to psychological warfare against Brown via trash talking.... and that did not work either. Alejandro Villanueva held both Preston Smith and Ryan Kerrigan in check... so Washington could not do anything on the edges. To top it off... had Washington drafted Kenny Clark like they should have as opposed to obtaining Josh Docston... then Washington might have not have had as much trouble against the run
