Week 1 is the best week of football in the NFL without a doubt. Going to Washington for our first game, I fully expect AB to look sharper then ever. My question is, will #24 man up AB the whole game like he did with a few of the elite WRs in the league last season? Common football sense would have him not do that, to play to his teams strengths. All I know is I can't wait to see this matchup!!

It should be a good matchup, lets hope the Steelers give #7 time to operate. The
Steelers are going into a Hornets nest here in DC. This will not be an easy game so many Steeler fans
    think it will.

Uh, if Norman match up with Brown with no help...AB will have a monster game. Josh is overhyped and he is no Richard Sherman. Even Sherman had to hold AB on some of those plays.

Isnt Norman a system DB? He's not usually matched up against the best receiver for the whole game, I don't believe.

I hope they do put him on AB, he'll get his ass handed to him.

If Antonio Brown can mess with the likes of Patrick Peterson and Chris Harris Jr.. there is no reason to believe that Josh Norman is no exception.

He was whipping Sherman so bad the refs decided it was o.k. for him to get held mauled on every play just to make it even! (and thrown down past the 5 yard bump for his INT)

Sherman can't match up with the shorter WR's and the routes they run that's why he holds them so much that they let him get away with it. He'll take away the deep stuff just due to his size and skillset, but AB will kill him every time on sharp cutting routes.

Remember he was matched up in the giant game with Beckham and they fought and drew penalty flags the whole game, you can bet he is going to be ABs shadow this whole game, hopefully Norman wont try to turn it into wrestling match like he did with Beckham......

AB should toast Norman if they match up one on one all game. The one chance I've got to see a full game where Norman was matched up against an elite talent was versus the Giants and OBJ last season. OBJ would have put up ridiculous numbers if he he had just stuck to playing football. He had Norman beat all ends up. Just lost the mental game.

AB is a better receiver and won't mess around, just get the job done. If the line gives Ben time to throw then us steelers fans and anybody who has AB in fantasy football should be grinning ear to ear.

OBJ is an undisciplined punk. AB is a surgeon, and it won't be nearly so easy to get into his head.

I think both are great players ..AB is top 1 or 2 in the NFL at his position and Norman is top 3 in my book at his position ...As guys have eluded to a lot will depend on how the game is called ? Both will make some plays , but whoever has the refs on their side will have the bigger game ...Norman is 3 inches shorter than Sherman and has a little bit longer arms than Sherman because of that he does have a nice center of gravity and he can be very physical ..This will be the battle to me and again do the refs allow it or do they allow it to continue past the 5 yards or do they call it tight ?

You and I just don't agree on much :lolol:

I think Norman is going to get exposed this season, think he was overpaid and definitely not a top 3 CB.

He benefitted greatly from playing in Carolinas defense.

A lot of people see it that way,, at the end of the season you will probably see it different ?Maybe even after the Steelers game ,which I hope not ...Norman is not a system guy he is a true press CB ,AB will have some problems getting off the line and as I stated if the refs allow that battle to continue then Norman could be very effective...

It's already started, he's been getting beat like a drum in practice, can't cover his own guys, he'll never handle AB.

Total system guy, He may try to be a press corner but he's not a great one by any stretch of the imagination.

Looking at Fox Sports week 1 game predictions:

    Monday, Sep. 12th --

    Pittsburgh Steelers at Washington Redskins:

Big Ben and Antonio Brown prove to the world that they can get by for four games without Le'veon Bell as they connect for three touchdowns, and Brown, fresh off a gig on Dancing With The Stars introduces us to some new fancy touchdown dances. This game isn't close from the first minutes on.

The Pick: Steelers 35 Redskins 16

I hope your right, but AB would have been thrown out of a game this preseason....except it was just a practice. He was a little fiery and mouthy all camp.

THIS! YES! This is EXACTLY what I was gonna say. OBJ does NOT have the skill set that AB does. Period. End of story. Norman said this week that OBJ is famous for one catch and I totally agree. Yeah he puts up numbers but he's nowhere NEAR the all around WR that AB is.

    From sport writer john breech:

It's a good thing the Redskins decided to sign Josh Norman, because they're going to need him this season.

Washington's secondary will be tested early and often in 2016, starting in Week 1 when the Redskins host Antonio Brown and the Steelers on Monday Night Football.

The bottom line is that the Redskins are going to find out right away if Norman is worth the five-year, $75 million deal they're giving him. If he's not, the cornerback could go down as a classic Dan Snyder blunder that will have Redskins' fans crying in their Albert Haynesworth jerseys.

Norman's success in Carolina came primarily in Cover 3, not man. If Washington tries to man him up on AB without help all day, AB will have some room to operate.

For the Panthers he usually stuck to a side rather than a man and they played a lot of zone. It remains to be seen how he will be fully used in DC

There is no way in hell the Skins gameplan is Norman to go 1 on 1 with AB and shut him down. No Bell? No Bryant? They are going to double AB all game and have somebody else beat them. We got a great receiving core so hopefully Ben uses them and it will open up things for AB or AB can throw a ***** fit for not getting the ball and Ben tries to force it to him for an int.

Living in Charlotte, I can tell you Norman is a very good CB. A very good zone CB that is. He is not a man corner.

I think he is best as a press zone CB ..That is what he played against OBJ ..They let him run the press with 3 deep behind he will stay with his guy deeper than he should creating space between the LB'S and the Safeties zone ...I see the Skins doing the same thing ..more like a box in 1 junk style defense ...This is the best way to play star players such as AB and that is exactly what I expect them to do...

Lets use all our weapons, at our disposal. Here is hoping #7 doesn't make boneheaded plays and force balls
and our defense gets after their QB. Attack and watch the W's build.
