you either block or you take the zone. on 3rd and 2, based on the coverage of the D (no zone flat), Fitz absolutely made the right read, and released into space for a 1st down. it's like... football 101

 

Run defense needs to improve. Avg of Carolina is 5.2 yards per carry thus far.
