I think LJ isnt a fan favorite because he doesnt have that emotional display the fans like to see in a QB, they want to see that fire in the belly chewing out a lineman when he causes a sack or a receiver doesnt make an open catch, LJ is too laid back and gives the impression he isnt in charge, he's not a brady type slamming his helmet down on the sideline and going down the bench chewing out the offense for blowing a drive, he therefore gives the impression he is passive and not passionate enough to ever be a succesful QB in this league..........

In order for me to be as bad at evaluating as Jones played , I would have to miss on 4 guys straight and not get a 1 right....So let's see I stated Redman was not a camp fodder and he would make the Team..Correct he did can't predict injury...
I said DHB would be a good WR for us and his hands would get better and he would help us win games..Correct he has done all that ....I stated we needed to move up and get Peters because he would probably be the best young CB in the draft..Correct he came out and has played great ....I stated we could take Paxton Lynch and use him for trade bait, people clowned that but low and behold they moved up to get him right after our pick, again correct....I stated Eli Rogers would look very good and win a roster spot and the starting slot spot...2 out of 3 boxes all , but checked and the 3rd. will be getting checked very soon...So again correct...Oh I almost forgot Wallace , I said he lacked effort and would not be resigned and would probably look bad after leaving the Steelers, I got that 1 right as well...

So while I might be off on stats or production , It seems I am doing very well in correct vs. incorrect ...Now I will add another prediction ..Jones will not get another contract from the Steelers when his is up and he will not land another job in the NFL either...

edit.. Well maybe as a towel boy or bath room attendant , but not as a QB so you can call me wrong on a technicality ..

You are incorrect about Landry. He WILL win another contract. He will become the starting qb for the browns. Lol.

    Redman? lol!
He started 7 games over 5 years, scored 5 TD's, 1148 total yards.
Yeah you were on that one. Not.
He never lived up to any of those exaggerated claims you were making. Getting injured wasn't the reason either.

DHB I like, but he's not a good receiver at least the numbers don't show that. He's below average as a WR.

Rodgers. Not really going out on a limb by saying he'll make the team. Who's his competition?
I think he'll do some good things, but I don't even know if he'll dress to start the season. With AB, Wheaton and Coats ahead of him I don't see how he snags a Starting job early in the season without an injury or the Steelers trade a WR.

Wallace? I don't think it took a genius to figure out that the Steelers would never give him what he wanted. And yeah he stunk after he left, but don't most players who leave the Steelers!

    Try again.

He never materialized to be the player you pimped him to be.

DHB is the same player he has always been.

He's good at finding the ball but also good at giving up TD's. He's not the best and hasn't done great. He did better in the second half of the season. Jurys still out.

What the heck does this even mean? Because another team moved up to get him that makes you correct? Not to mention no one used him as trade bait, which is a really terrible idea.

Eli looks good and would be surprised he if he doesn't make the team. I think you are going to be surprised when he doesn't play much though. Look for him to make more of an impact next year when Wheaton likely goes elsewhere.

You and the rest of Steeler Nation :lolol:

You can add this to the growing number of $20 bets you will lose to me.

Even the Browns want except him as a back up QB..

OK fair enough you have your perception and I have mine ....I wont argue every point you made because I think I made my case the first time...I can argue them if we must , but probably better to just let it be ?

Suddenly I am reminded of the Searching for Booby Fisher Movie...

I think Eli is going to play a hell of a lot this season. It seems he's climbed past Coates on the depth chart and is our starting slot guy. Ben looked for him on a deep ball, on a third down play (which he converted), and in the red zone.

Although we'll be bringing a ton of looks to our offense and our receivers will be interchangeable, Eli will be a focal point of this offense as the all-important slot guy.

i think LJ looked pretty good in this one. well DHB did have an easy drop to hurt his stats. that would have made him 20 of 22 but hey 19 of 22 is a decent nights work.

It's all good PWP, I was just being a wiseass in my OP because you slung mud at half the board and wanted to some to fall on you. Ok, maybe not half the board, I don't think LJ has that many supporters :lolol:

I think Coates has to fall on his face for Eli to get that much playing time. He's the prototypical receiver and they need him to replace Bryant. Eli, no matter how good a slot guy, can't do that, they'll have to turn to Eli if Coates fails.

Bryant really hurt this team with his selfish behavior. Hope Coates it up to the challenge.

Give LJ his props, he played a much better game last night 19 of 22 zero picks 206 yards and 1 TD, he needs to do this in his last pre season game to alleviate the doubters about his consistency, obviously Ben and AB are in regular season form and ready to go....

Ponder = the next Tom Brady

Strange how Landry Jones plays well with AB, Bell, starting O-lineman, etc.

They only time I hope we see Landry, is when we are ahead by 20 plus points the the 4th quarter. Other than that great bounce back game for him. I think it helps him with Bell or Williams at RB in the game, he seemed to play much better.

Thats a no brainer, any QB plays better with the starters, and LJ will be playing with all the starters if he has to play in a game this season.....

Congrats to Jones , I am glad he finally had a good game, I still don't think very high of him , but more games like that might change my mind...I hope I only see 1 more game from him until next season..

    No way.

I think you're confusing their roles. Eli is THE prototypical slot guy. He is going to be an invaluable asset to this team from that position. He's not being asked to fill in for Bryant. He's being asked to play the slot.

Wheaton has taken over Bryant's spot. And Heyward-Bey is backing him up.

As it is, Coates will see the field primarily when we go four and five wide. It looks like when we're going with three wr's it'll primarily be AB and Wheaton wide and Eli in the slot.

Obviously we run a lot of different packages so it'll be interchangeable but I think you've got it twisted. Eli will have to fall flat on his face to keep from seeing the field. I'm not the only one who has noticed how much they're depending on Eli:
