Lewis had three surgeries last year, hip, sports hernia and knee. He started training camp on the PUP, and came off Aug 3rd after passing a physical. He didn't practice much in the days that followed. If he is healthy, he's an upgrade.

I've read both reports linked in tis tread. Both are re-hashes of quotes from actual sports reporting sights, with Gerry Dulac's Tweet thrown in there. Those second hand news sites are just that. Nowhere does anyone say Lewis is actually coming for a visit.

Just saw Lewis' post on Instagram though, so he must be coming.

Being as we have been looking to bring in a veteran CB I don't see the problem in bringing in a guy that used to be in our system.
3 surgeries is a worry but that's why you have them take a physical. I am a little confused though as to how the Saints can get away with activating someone off the PUP list if they are still rehabbing.

Sign him if he passes the physical to a 1 year vet min deal.

I didn't read all the articles, but you're right that this seems to all be based on Lewis saying to AB that he was visiting Pittsburgh. No confirmation from the Steelers.

Maybe Lewis just wants a day out around the town.

Keenan was one of the more solid corner's this franchise has seen in the last 10 years or so. Wouldn't question the front office at all if they dabbled.

Wow, when we let Wallace walk and paid Brown... Right choice.
When we let Lewis walk and paid Allen
    ...definitely, the wrong choice.
But, I think its too late to bring him back

If he's healthy... I'll be very happy with this.

Still need a QB and TE though.

Played 6 games last season? See if he can pass a physical.... just make sure it's not the same doctor that evaluated Ladarius Green

Bouchette says his visit with the team is tonight. Doubt he gets signed, but can't hurt.

TTF, you doubt because of health issues or money?

The health issues. Who knows, though. Maybe he passes the physical and they like what they see.

I don't know if I like it or not, but I do have a feeling they will sign him.

I read where he said he never got along with their DC. Who knows? If he can actually help provide us with a little depth and be serviceable then I'm fine with it. I was never a fan of his while he was here though. I know he was improving but I just never felt like he was the answer going forward.

I thought him and Gay thought they were on a track team , both of them would let the players catch it and have a foot race to the end zone..They would both lose almost every time ,but they would always stay in the frame..Both of them have gotten a lot better since then ..Lewis his last few healthy years looked like a solid #2 CB so if healthy why not we could for sure use a#2 CB ....

If he is healthy and passes the physical it's a Plug and Play. What's not to like? The one that got away.

Got nothing to lose for a vet minimum and a secondary that is going to spill some serious blood in the early stages of the season.

A veteran presence is not a bad thing at all.

They could use a veteran CB, preferably a healthy one. Golson and Burns probably won't contribute much this season.

Honestly, I think he wants to come back. That will play a really big factor. Cockrell and Lewis will now fight for spot #2, and Davis and the loser will fight for the nickle job as Gay could now move inside.

Maybe Lewis wants to come back just so he can compete against his buddy Mike Wallace twice a year?
