Preseason Game vs Eagles

Geez. Dulac tweeted team said no "B`s" and no D. Williams again Thurs night, but Pouncey will play.

I hope we get a full half in for these guys next week.

 

I think you will see Roethlisberger, Bell, Brown, for about 15 minutes of time, for the whole preseason.

 

Honestly, I wouldn't put in anyone that is a solidified #1. This team seems to have bad luck with injuries in the preseason. I know maybe that isn't proper sportsmanship, but so what. These games don't count on the w/l record.

 

The preseason games are so meaningless that I would hope that they hold BU QB tryouts only. Put Ben in for 1 qtr of the 3rd game and 1/2 qtr for the 4th game only. We know what he can do so why take any risks?

 

The Steelers are 3.5 favorites. I'm not interested in that bet with the lineup the Steelers will be using. I did bet the over /under at 40 points taking the under. The bet is only a couple of hundred because of it being pre- season. Just passing time until the real season begins and some serious betting can happen. I need to stay lucky and do as well or better for the animals as I have done the last couple of years. Hockey did well and the ponies have been good so maybe this will be a great year for donating.

 

I hope we see a better effort tonight than the last game. I want to see crispness, hard hitting fundamental football.

 

the biggest problem i saw started with the young OLB'ers getting caught inside time after time leaving the flats open and allowing them to turn the corner and putting alot of pressure on the db's and inside backers that don't have that great of range like timmons and shazier. i know a lot will argue but vince williams is always a tick slow and still doesn't take great angles all the time. fort outplayed him in both aspects. fort and grant both showed me a lot of what i thought they would be. both could turn out to be quite valuable for us this season. i like vince but fort is going to make a claim for playing time as is grant.

 

DeCastro and Pouncey need to sit along with Ben, Bell and Brown. Shazier, Timmons, Gay and Heyward need to sit, too.

 

make the first cut guys play.

 

In addition, I expect the Steelers to use the Eagles' playbook tonight, so as to not give them any clue what they will see in September.

 

Time to see if Landry Jones can hang with Sam Bradford.

 

Pouncey needs all the work he can get
tooooo much money being spent on an unknown
i really believe he put himself in the wrong position when he got hurt probably got manhandled by the NT and voila here comes the pulling guard
maybe he missed an assignment
we all know he missed alot of classes while in college

 

Pouncey is overrated... but still better than 80% of starting NFL centers.

 

This game is huge for the FO and the Coaching staff ...With roster cuts just around the corner the Team needs to know what they have on the fringe ...Do we have near enough depth at CB do we need a starter type guy ? Do have enough depth at Safety or do we need a starter type guy ? Is our bu QB situation good enough ?

The QB situation is the one I think they will look at the hardest..With only 2 QB'S playing tonight and Jones locked firmly in as the #2 Dustin will get a chance to lock up a roster spot tonight ...I think the Team will give him a better OL and better WR'S tonight...I also think they will give him more snaps in his style of Offense now that he has got more practice reps...I think he might surprise some fans tonight ..

 

TE's, finney, hubbard, rogers, hamilton, wallace, vaughn, jarvis. with hawkins out and mihalik out, we need to see a 4th tackle step up which should give wallace and finney a lot of reps at guard and center. VU-E has done well in camp at center and i want to see more of this kid too. he seems to be a rock at center so far in camp. fighting for a PS spot maybe.
