Not only would I take him...I bet he would end up starting opposite Gay....with Gay sliding into the slot with Cro and Cockrell on the outsides

I agree, but might be a decent stop gap for a year if healthy and take a low ball offer

I don't recall what he looked like last yr. he may not have anything left. But, what the harm in giving him a try out? Other than that they should have considered it a couple of months ago.

They said the same thing about Randy Moss when he was cut by the Raiders he seemed ok in NE. They said the same thing Carson Palmer...he seems to be doing ok In AZ. They said the same thing about Frank Gore with the 49ers...Colts are pretty happy to have him....They said the same thing about Rod Woodson a few times...he managed to stay relevant a little longer....They said the same thing about James Harrison when the Steelers let him go, and when then again when Bengals cut him...but he seems to be doing ok..... But you are right...Cromartie is old...I mean he is not DeAngelo Williams or James Harrison old....be he is old.

If you can guard, contain, or cover a cereal box than you can play in our secondary! I'd bring in as many DBs every year to see who sticks

Theres a report he has a balky hip, probably not worth the risk.

Came from Rappaport, though, take it with a grain of salt.

Well if steelers haven't done anything by now than I guess they are happy with their db cast. Might be a long season folks...

There's time yet. I don't recall Cockerell being signed until late in the preseason (though my memory could be off on that one).

get burns back and getting some field time has to help. white has only been here a week too so hopefully we get a little improvement there too. they are young yet guys, we can't expect vet play at this stage. i think we have seen improvement for one game from what they showed last year from grant and cockrell, thats what we are looking for. getting our full starting defense on the field will help a lot. i think the arrow is pointing up from last year.

If our pass rush can create a little chaos it will also GREATLY help the youth on the back end.

T true. For whatever times people gave Cockrell a hard time they forgot that fact. That he came in on like game 4 and became a regular season starter without OTAs or Training Campz

Except for last year he has had a good career with multiple picks in 8 of those 10 seasons, but according to rapoport hip problems hurt him last year and may end his career, we dont need to sign another dinged up player since we have green...

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports "lingering hip concerns" could force free agent CB Antonio Cromartie to retire.
A former First Team All-Pro, the 32-year-old has had an exceptional career, but he looked to be out of gas with the Jets last season. These hip issues could help explain why. Cromartie has not received much interest since being released by New York in February. Jul 25 - 12:06 PM

Maybe we should sign him and move him to Safety?? I am not sure he can still play CB at a high level , but he does have ball skills and would probably be a upgrade over what we have now...

So yes I would sign him , but as a FS not as a CB..

i was trying to get the lyrics with the song couldn't find one
thought it was appropriate although a little off topic
    so
    GO STEELERS.

Anthrax would use the name Satans lounge band to do shows in smaller clubs

    SOD was a great collaboration
