Reports are he lied and said he was fine no headaches. A headache won't show up on the physical.

I know a headache wont show up on a physical but the doctor should ask the player if he has any lingering effects from concussed injuries, if green said no, then he lied, unless if he says now at the time he took his physical he didnt have any headaches and the headaches only showed up recently then that could cause a problem for them because they would have to prove he covered up the headache problem at the time of the physical.

So, to recoup that signing bonus, or at least what he has left over from the 4.7 million they will have to prove he lied and that could be hard to prove.

But I think Green just doesnt want to play anymore for what ever reason and the steelers may have to admit they made a mistake in signing him and it's hard to eat crow like we did with levi brown..............

It is not uncommon to have excersize induced migrane head aches from concussions. You feel fine until you exert your self. That's all he has to say. He wasn't working out because of his ankle. Then he shows up to Pittsburgh starts working out and says I have head aches. Yes I agree he's screwing the steelers but I have a feeling we have no recourse other than to cut him. The players association should be really pissed at Green...because if this happens teams will stop signing players with recent concussions. Which will hurt the players big time.

The big question is, has his ankle healed after 8 months of rehab? My next question is, if it has then bring him into camp and put him under the concussion protocol program where the doctors can assess and evaluate him so they can determine if he is faking his headaches or not, they take incremental baby steps to evaluate concussion recovery and if he goes through the program and the doctors diagnose him fit to play he has to play or quit, there has to be an end to this madness, letting him stay at home isn't going to solve anything......

I wonder if they have checked him for the same injury Crosby had? For those of you who aren't familiar Crosby missed a year with what was thought to be concussion but it turned out it was something in his neck that went unchecked. I agree though I would put him in concussion protocol and see what is really going on.

If Green would've told the truth, the Steelers maybe would've had a shot at Martellus Bennet. Now, who can they get???

There are any number of reasons outside of concussion which can cause headaches, especially migraines. He needs to go to the Doctor and get looked at. It is as simple as that.

For instance, I can't eat raw onions. Why? They are a trigger for migraines for me. Cooked? I can eat all day, but raw triggers me. I don't know why, but I've been looked at. In addition, I have a pretty big concussion past, at least 4 that I know of, one as early as 8. I'm now almost 45 and still find myself getting migraines.

I have lots of other triggers as well, some of which are related to my sinuses. Give him a break. Let's get the guy to the doctor and let's see what's going on.

Green said last year the concussions were misdiagnosed, and he had sinus issues. Steeler players have already moved on, especially the one whose opinion counts most, #7. Green will never play a down for the Steelers.

I don't believe he's staying at home. I read he was working out lightly and part of the concussion program. We can wait and hope that he suddenly gets better...but there's enough data out there...when someone hasn't recovered from a concussion he received almost a year ago I think it's safe to say it's going to be a very long road before he does recover... if at all. The fact that he's taking this long probably means his next concussion will end his career. No Front office wants to gamble $20million on that fragile of a player. I'm sure the FO is trying to get out of this contract that they never should have offered him. We need to do it now so we can hopefully recover the bonus and cap space to use elsewhere.

seriously? you think he's not seen doctors? This is clearly related to concussions... the team has a medical staff and medical experts readily available to treat all of their players. The team and Green are getting 10X better medical attention than you have ever received. If it were migraines unrelated to concussions he'd be on meds and playing.

I knew Green was too good to be true :( Those type of FAs just don't come to Pittsburgh. With all the BS surrounding Bryant and Bell. My only glimmer of hope for this season was Green and now that's gone.

So I read that he had been running sprints in practice and Tomlin was talking about how he knew that it was gonna be a while before he saw the field but no one knows if Tomlin was meaning because of the headaches or because of the ankle.

Green was placed on the PUP because of his ankle, or at least that was the official reason. The Steelers leaked the headache story to make Green defecate or get off the porcelain.

I really feel that the Steelers are in a bad place, TE wise. The TE position is an integral part of
our offense, Looks like Jesse James & Grimble are not up too snuff and may never be. Look for the Steelers to aquire
    another TE ASAP.

i saw james and grimble make some good blocks in that game. no they didn't send them down the seam but that will come. i'm not as worried as most about this position because of the blocking i saw from these two. DJ did OK too but he's going to be kept more for his ability to back up nix if something happens to him. thats the main reason he's even here. grimble made some nice kick out blocks in the run game and he also helped out AV in the passing game. they stone walled that side when grimble stayed in to help. it was when AV was alone on that side that the pressure came. not worried about this spot yet.

How can you say that after one game with the backups in. Jumping the gun a little bit and I would take both of them over anyone out there. What you want old ass Owen Daniels in there because he's the only one out there.

Coach Tomlin is saying that its his ankle and that it has nothing to do with headaches. I'm thinking that the coaching staff thought that the headache situation would subside and they picked up a great talent because the chargers over reacted or didn't want to take a chance

Although a different set of circumstances, this reminds me of the Eric Green hold out when he was drafted. The anticipation of getting such an asset on the field kinda thing.
