Steelers to sign Kevin White

From TCU. Short and slow. 4.6 40 and only 5'9". I don't see the point in this at all. Why not go after Leon Hall and throw gay into the nickel when in the nickel. Yeah he is old and beat up but good Lord at least it makes sense. This makes no sense at all.

For some reason this team doesn't put much stock in finding qualified corners. Why they insist they can make chicken soup from chicken **** is unreal. Even this years number one selection is nothing more than a backup.

 

I liked Kevin White coming out in the draft. Don't have a problem with this at all. The bigger question is what does it say about Golson's future - is the injury more severe or is this signing just to get someone in for competition.

 

It's that with him down we only have Burns now as a backup.

 

Not sure of your point, wouldn't Grant, Washington etc be back ups too?

 

I don't think it has anything to do with Golsons future. He can't go right now but when healthy he will be back.

 

I gotcha...and like others have posted, I am really interested to see what he can do when he comes back.

 

yea, i liked white too. also all this talk of golson coming back this year is kind of moot since the kid hasn't even practiced in this defense long enough to learn it. others will be way ahead of him by then.

 

Grant maybe going back to cb position, weren't they going to try him at safety this year?
Looks like Shamarko will survive being cut now that Golson is injured.

 

i haven't heard of grant doing anything else but playing corner so far this camp. i believe he's cockrells backup at LCB so far.

 

Might still have his work cut out to make the team. But, best of luck to him, looking forward to seeing him play in the pre-season games.

 

It's not too late to put Shazier at Safety.
That way Davis could play outside.

 

I disagree strongly that Artie Burns is a wasted pick and only a backup at best, Burns is a tall cornerback and he has world-class speed. Wait till he plays in a game before you cast your doubt his way....
