Supplemental draft July 14...

6 players will be in this years SUPP draft being held on july 14, the most interesting player is a 6-5 215 receiver from Calgary by the name of Rashaun Simonise seems about a dozen nfl teams are interested in him, he had over a 1000 yards and 11 TDs in 8 games at calgary last year, he might be worth a look and a pick for us in this draft.....

Articles suggest up to 20 teams may have scouts at his pro day. We are not desperate at WR as some teams are so the bidding will probably go much higher than we would be interested.

 

Interesting prospect for sure. Wish Pittsburgh's stable was not so loaded though.

Not certain what you mean exactly. The depth at Wide Receiver is ridiculous to the point of absurd. In addition, I do not think Pittsburgh is going to stomach forfeiting a compensatory pick.

 

Rashaun Simonise pro day wasnt as great as he might have wished for in his 40 times, teams probably wont want to spend a pick higher than a 4 or 5 for him based on his showing, maybe a team will offer a 3 for him........

Canadian WR work out okay for NFL scouts … Former Calgary WR Rashaun Simonise, one of 6 players eligible for Thursday’s summer supplemental draft, worked out in front of scouts from a half dozen NFL teams earlier today. The 6 teams that made the trip to Calgary included Arizona, Indianapolis, Washington, Los Angeles, Green Bay and the New York Jets. No official results were announced, but Simonise reportedly measured in at 6-5, 201. Running in rainy, windy conditions, Simonise reportedly was clocked in 4.71 running the 40 into the wind and 4.52 with the wind. The average was around 4.6 seconds, though that was likely not in the area of what Simonise was looking for. Meanwhile, Simonise also had a solid 35-inch vertical and a 10-3 standing long jump.

 

Why would the second statement be odd? Is it wrong to say that Pittsburgh does have a loaded receiving corps?

Wish we weren't loaded so we can draft some prospect in a supplemental draft. Odd!

 

We are all asking question after your statement. My guess is it says something then you think it does. Perhaps you meant to say l, I wish we could get this guy, but I wish we could get this guy, but our stable is loaded.

The Steelers have not drafted a guy in the supplemental draft in the 40 years it has existed.

 

It's a shame we're so loaded!
