Which player gets a contract extension first?

DD is making over 8 mil this year, he's probably not going to settle for 7-8 mil being an all-pro. we pay pouncey over 10 mil now and it goes up and so does gilberts money. we will also need to pay our LT AV soon. it all adds up and then still have AB and bell not to mention replacing others that will be heading towards their final years soon contract wise. i think they have to be careful restructuring ben. if they do it smart and not just add years, because at his age you never know when its over. we would be hit with all the money at once if he retires. similar to heath this year.

i do think with timmons coming off the books next year and the dead money hit we have with heath this year coming off next year, we should be ok. mitchell will need a new contract. moats will come off too as may williams (LB) so we will have to replace at least 4 LBers. DW is another guy needing replaced next year. we can't keep them all but it would be nice if we could. our team has a lot of youth right now and if that youth steps up, losing a guy or two won't hurt near as bad. i think we are near the point we were a few years ago of retooling and not rebuilding with what we have. the future looks bright on paper.

Harrison is a part-time player anyway, if Timmons has a bounce back year they may bring him back in 2017 at a hometown discount. The Steelers have shown they can find WRs, if Wheaton leaves then Coates has a bigger role in 2017 and knucklehead Martavis Bryant returns. This will be the first year of DD making 8 million, once he gets a big signing bonus he will have no problem playing for that amount.

I know the 5th year option is fully guaranteed once the player reports to camp even if they get injured and go on IR, but I don't know if they get any signing bonus for showing up???

i think he means on a new contract playing for 8 mil. a season plus the big signing bonus.
