This was the biggest thing about him when we drafted him - he is FAST. If he can stay on the field, he will be very good

 

and sammie coates.

 

Guess AB and company probably took a little ego hit but it is what it is. The speed requirement at the linebacker position is one of the things that's changed the last 7 years or so in the NFL.

 

SIGN HIM!!...........Oh, wait. Can he play corner??...............Eh, I got nothin'

 

After the draft people questioned why we didn't draft a CB. DL said Shazier was fast enough to play CB if he wanted him too.

 

What no DHB mention?

When I first read this, I had a totally inappropriate thought.

 

I'm not surprised Shazier came in first he ran a 4.38 at the combine, I guess AB was lying he posted a video recently saying he was working out and just ran a 4.35.

 

Shazier said that dhb wasn't allowed in the race

 

Exactly he wanted to race the guys he knew he could beat . That's why there was no mention of DHB because he would have won the race . There has never been a question of the speed of DHB...

That last line says it all..When someone on the Team is not allowed to race it means he is the fastest player on the Team and it's not really close.

here's footage of the race. coates and shazier are close. no matter though all these guys are fast and thats a good thing.

When I first saw this story elsewhere I had a flashback to Wesley Snipes' "Willie Mays Hays" character in Major League joining the 40 yd dash mid-race from his bed out in the parking lot. Actually that would have been the case had the name Dri Archer popped into this story somehow.
