Anyone catching this six part mini-series? The 5th installment just ran this week. I do prefer good old espionage themes like this more than zombies and this isn't too bad being a John Le Carre' story. Hugh Laurie plays a wonderful nasty guy and could have played another memorable opposite for Willis in the Die Hard series ala Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons. The acting is decent and the soundtrack and scenery are engaging. I like the mini-series approach where they can tie everything up in 6 weeks rather than being hung out to dry like so many Fox shows seem to leave you - still PO'd about them ending the Alcatraz series so abruptly a few years ago which had a good sci-fi/mystery premise.

Anybody know if Fargo will make another appearance this year?

Fargo was renewed for a 3rd series but not til like a year and a half from now. I wish it would be set in like the Prohibition Era or something like that.

Thank you Sir. Guess it's re-runs for another year. The beauty of the way they are doing it now with completely new casts and story lines each season is they could stage it in any era from the Wild West to the future and it would still be interesting with those writers and the Coen Bros hand in it. They could make reference to Shep Proudfoot's Grandfather the great warrior chief in the Black Hills.

Unrelated, I read a piece possibly on the IMDB site that there is a 6th Die hard movie in the makings but as a prequel to the whole series back when John McClane was a beat cop. That might be a stretch - Willis is getting up there and the 5th movie really stunk I thought. The first three were epic.

I've been meaning to check this out, but I keep avoiding it until I can get caught up.

From what I understand, it's going to jump back and forth between late '70s McClane and present day McClane. The first 3 are classics. I didn't even watch the last one.

Meh. If you are really bored and don't even expect it to have a Die Hard feel to it, check it out. Otherwise, not missing much.

Thats a cool idea about switching back and forth from 70's to present day, CGI can pull that off easy. I'd love to see that plot played out.
