Ain't no one going to rehabilitate this @sswipe. Let the bungles sign him. They love these kind of players. This is why they will never see a Championship.

Yeah I don't get the theory that players would change their behaviour as soon as they put on a Steelers jersey.

Pittsburgh is usually careful to avoid trouble players in the first place and if a player does screw up they are usually shipped out like Rainey, Taamu, Santonio etc. Being a superstar like Ben or Harrison is the only exception to being kicked for bringing bad press.

Greg Hardy is absolutely crazy. And we need to have no part of him at all.

I have wound up with a collection of stray and/or abused dogs. It wasn't by intent but I'm glad they have a good life now.

One of the posters in this post is starting to remind me of a squeaky toy.

We are building a roster of younger players surrounded by vets who can teach them the Steeler way. No way do I want a POS like Hardy on this team. When the Cowboys don't want you back and the Bungals and Raiders haven't signed ya you know you hit rock bottom. Maybe him and Ray Rice can hang out and watch the games together and talk about how good they are.......while sitting on the couch where they belong!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see that he even thinks he has done anything wrong. He can't even admit to himself that he has a serious problem. Not the kind of guy you want on a Football Team ...

His production doesn't warrant the toxicity that he brings with him. Stupid to bring him here. Stupid for any team to sign him.

Also if you want to just forget about his off field troubles and look at his on field play I have one question. Where does he play in our scheme, I mean he is more a 4-3 end not a 3-4 end right? Does he fit our sub packages where we kick Heyward and Tuitt down in....maybe but now we are talking a 2 down player right? Now throw in his off field problems and I am not interested at all. His off field problems alone makes me not want him and I could care less how much production he could add here.

    what is the steeler way?
we use to be a team of morals and values but after wife beaters, dog killers, alleged rapist and drug heads, we are no better than any other team. the good playersd get excused, the bad ones get cut
the owners sold out to ticketmaster to make more money instead of giving loyal waiting list fans first shot at tickets. now all the scalpers get them and sell them on stubhub and ebay
we called it tough nose football but the rest of the league saw it as dirty cheap shots(harrison, clark, ward, etc)
times have changed and so has this organization

But we can try to go back and resemble some sort of class can't we? By signing upstanding citizens and football players.

They aren't all thugs, actually some of them do have morals.

I couldn't disagree more and really don't want to get into the whole who did what. The Steeler way still exists, sorry you feel this way but you know the Steelers can only be responsible for so much. Rainey and Ta'aam are prime examples of that, they screwed up and were gone. Adams and Vick are guys who came with a checkered past and have been nothing but model citizens!

Sorry if you feel that way but the Steeler way still exists, I don't care what team you are you are always gonna have some kind of issues how you deal with them is what defines you. We are not the Cowboys, Gayvens, Raiders or Bungals! I am just sad to see one of our fans feel like this and to make it worse another agree.......

i guess you are going to have to explain what you think is the 'steeler way'.
everything i posted is fact. i cant see how you can honestly 'not disagree more'
for years i hung my hat on the fact that the steelers were a classy organization and different from the rest. as much as i wish they still were, they are not.
all i care about is winning super bowls now. i dont care who is on the team and if they cheat to do it

    Ok, I'll bite:

Wife beater: While I think it was a cowardly act, it was one incident, hardly a pattern that should warrant the label of wife beater.

Dog killer: Disgusted me that they brought him here and screwed up my enjoyment of the team but from the Steelers perspective, the guy had been an upstanding citizen since his release from prison. He had no current issues.

Alleged rapist: Do we really have to beat this horse? Alleged being the key word, not even a charge.

Drug Heads: This is super weak. Might as well sell the team and try your hand at something else if you think you can avoid pot users.

If you really think any of the above equates to bringing a guy like Hardy and his issues here, sadly mistaken. Not a chance in hell the Steelers would do that. I will admit that the more important you are to the team, the longer the rope you will get, thats true of any team.

    okay,
what would us steelers fans say if the bengals, ravens or patriots had players that did or allegedly did the exact same thing as our own steeler players?

I don't speak for Steelers fans and I don't let them formulate my opinion either. There are players on other teams that warrant ridicule and players that don't. Hardy is definitely one that does.

Well what I think is the "Steeler Way" is and what you think it is are two different things so no matter what I say isn't gonna matter but I will give it a shot. The "Steeler Way" is not Aldon Smith, or Greg Hardy, Ahmad Brooks, Justin Blackmon, Montee Ball....etc. and you will not see us signing/drafting guys like that. Have we had issues yeah Ta'am, Blake, Rainey and yeah Bell and Blount:worried:. The whole Ben thing was a joke from the start and I have no problem with the signing of Vick, he served his time and has become a better person.

Times are changing drugs in our society are changing our lives forever...believe me I know better then most. I am not a fan of AB's "extra" stuff but again it is a new NFL.....you aren't gonna find many Heath Millers anymore. We still hold our players to a higher standard but also we can not hold their hands every minute of the day. We are bound to have a few players here and there that get into trouble, howevewr we aren't the Cowboys, Bungals or Raiders that will sign these guys time after time. They are the teams that "don't care who is on the team as long as they win" not us........

I care about winning Super Bowls as well but I do not want the team I root for signing guys like Smith and Hardy......JMO!!!!!

Maybe for those two who would like Hardy, and say he could help us garbage, should really read what this POS did.

Don't get me wrong, when they signed Vick I was totally against it. Not just for the fact of what he did but I felt he was washed up and never impressed me in the least. But, he did time and has at least from the outside has rehabilitated himself.

Santonio Holmes. Super Bowl MVP. Not all the bad ones get cut. He got traded( probably would have been cut if not) which worked out ok.

Marijuana is being used not just to get high but for pain to replace strong pharmaceutical drugs by not only sports stars but by the regular person. In the case of Bryant obviously he has more deep seeded issues. Same with Santonio Holmes. You can obsess over anything, and get addicted to anything.

The whole Ben argument is worn out. Do I think he was a choir boy? No. He wasn't charged and it's he say, she say.

And the quote of whatever it takes to win, cheat ect. to get a Championship? There are PLENTY of teams that would welcome your fandom. That's not what I want to see being a Steeler Fan for over 40 years...
