I think we are really seeing a deviation in our picks this year. I always value production, football IQ and instincts. I like the guy that are considered "good fooyplall players".

In rounds 1 and 2, we took guys with potential. Both guys have horrendous tape but have great athletic ability. It really is a gamble.

Alot of pressure on our coaching staff to develop these kids.

I was thinking something similar. Could it be the Jarvis Jones lesson? He had everything except the physical traits, and at best he's a rotational player. Since then our 1st rounders have had top notch measurables, as have the majority of our picks.

I am really not unhappy with our first pick, I like Burns but the thing that got me was I wanted to trade back. I have no idea if there was opportunity, I don't think any of us know that. As I sit here this morning and look at all these good players still sitting here for example: Billings, Perry, Cash, Cooper, Higgens, Tapper, Mills, Killebrew and the list just keeps going. And we have the 27th pick in the 4th and nothing in the 5th I am pretty sad we didn't trade back.

Now on to our second rounder, I like Davis after the east-west game, I think I was one of the few who did that early. As the draft got closer I noticed more and more were liking him. I really feel again we went to high on him, Byard, Thompson and Simmons all went after him and still left out there are Cash, Killebrew, Mills, Kearse and Dillon. I am trying to not dislike the pick but just give my opinion I think we went to early here, but I like the player Davis can become.

Our 3rd pick you can't complain about, the only thing we can ask is what is wrong with Billings that we don't know about. There was a run yesterday on DT so I think this was a nice pick, I don't know much on him but is he more of a DE in our system or more of a DT? I know a few here as of late were really talking about him.

All in all not a bad draft so far we got players at need positions and the 2 guys I didn't want us to draft Neal and Howard didn't end up here so I am happy with that. We got guys who are play makers on the ball which is something we needed, if I had to give a grade so far I would give a B-. JMO

I'm gonna sincerely attempt to make this my last negative posts about picks 1 and 2.

Artie Buns: I have no idea what we look for in a corner any more. We are told last year that even though Golson is far below prototypical height and weight for a high round CB, he is the best zone corner in the draft and that is why we took him. This year we take Burns whose biggest failing is an inability to play zone or off-man. I just don't get it. From the tape I watched (admittedly not as much as most) Fuller fit us much better and would have started on this team this year.

Sean Davis: In my opinion the Bears drafted the same exact prospect at 127 in Deiondre Hall.

I will watch the careers of both Fuller and Vonn Bell with great interest over the next five years. Hopefully our two will play so well the point will be moot, but I have serious doubts.

Just curious, but why watch fuller and bell? It's not like it matters. They ain't steelers. Let's say they play well. Who's to say they would have if we picked em? My advise to u would be let it go.lol be happy with who we have

Lol, I'm just a glutton for punishment. And you're right it's better to let it go. I generally try to give myself a couple days to gripe, moan, and complain about our picks and then stop. I find it therapeutic. :smiley1:

Of course, now that they're here they're my guys and I will root for them to succeed.
