This is from Pro football focus:

25 (123). Pittsburgh Steelers: Jerald Hawkins, OT, LSU
Hawkins allowed just 13 total pressures in 2015, but it also came on only 221 pass blocking snaps. He’s probably better as a run blocker as he shows potential and athleticism, but will need some time to improve.

45 (220) Pittsburgh Steelers: Travis Feeney, OLB, Washington
Two straight seasons of positive PFF grading, Travis Feeney is also a guy who had an excellent measurable profile. In 200 pass-rushing snaps this past season he notched seven sacks and 27 total pressures, and also had good grades in the run game. This is a nice get for the Steelers this deep into the draft.

8 (229) Pittsburgh Steelers: Demarcus Ayers, WR, Houston
Ayers lacks the height to go high early in the draft, but was highly productive in his final year in college. He worked almost exclusively from the slot, ranking sixth in yards per route run (2.7 YPRR) and fourth in drop rate (2 of 93 catchable passes). Ayers has the shiftiness to make plays underneath in the NFL.

25 (246) Pittsburgh Steelers: Tyler Matakevich, ILB, Temple
Tyler Matakevich was the 13th-ranked linebacker in the draft class. He finished as the class’ 13th-best coverage linebacker and the 22nd-best run defending linebacker. He had five sacks and 72 run stops on the season.

awesome day 3. love matakevich. he's just a good football player. feeney has speed and can be a similar player to shazier. ayers, well we shall see. not much speed or short area quickness, but is shiffty and good hands. hawkins was a head scratcher as far as the position and the round but adams is as good as gone, beachum is gone and harris is a 1 year rental.

I don't see any of these guys contributing much this season, most likely practice squad material.

I think Ayers will be our returner so he may see some time at WR as well. I also think Matakevich could be one of the biggest surprises in this draft. This kid is always around the ball, he is like a Zack Thomas/Brain Urlacker.

I think the days of guys getting drafted and not playing are coming to an end. Now I am not saying all our picks are gonna make it and all are gonna play, I am just saying the times have changed and draft picks see the field sooner.

Matakevich is a football player, plan and simple. His physical shortcomings show up on tape, but so do his intelligence, instincts and drive to make every single play that's out there for the taking. He's seemingly a complete departure from the types of players we drafted earlier who are mostly raw physical specimens. I like it. I'm not sure he's going to make it, but I'm going to thoroughly enjoy watching him put it all on the line to make it.

Hawkins.... I hadn't watched anything on him before the draft other than when I watched some of the guys he went up against. I got around to watching his 2 games on draftbreakdown this AM, and the tape is not his friend at all. He was mostly dominated by whoever he matched up with against Alabama. A Shawn Robinson easily maintained 2 gap control against him whenever they engaged in the run game, and LSU had zero success running to his side of the field. The other game was Texas Tech. He had some plus plays in that game, but there were still some ugly plays. I see that he was ranked #81 overall by CBS/Draft Scout, so there must be good tape out there somewhere. The 2 games that I watched aren't enough to grade a player, but it was enough to dampen any excitement I have over the pick. We'll see what Munch can do.

Feeney looks interesting. The only game of his that I've watched so far is USC. He played a really good game that day, and he's clearly an athlete. I need to see a lot more to get feel for the player, but I've liked what I've seen so far.

    Ayers... No idea yet.

I'm going to guess that Munch had a hand in his selection (I hope so) and thats enough for me. The 2 games you watched are probably not enough as you said. Or, it is enough and you are correct but Munch sees basic flaws easily corrected.

I'm sure he can get this kid up to speed.

Correct me if I am wrong but our oline was bad....real bad before Munch got here and look what he has done with these guys. I am not totally giving Munch credit but I will give him a big hand in it, right or worng? With that said I agree with you, Munch can hopefully help this kid and the other guys we have coming up as well.

He definitely has a big hand in it but also has some good pieces to work with in Pouncey and Decastro. But look what he's done with Gilbert? AV? Munch knows his ****.

I just read Feeney had a whole slew of injuries/surgeries on his shoulder.... Ugh... thats a career killer right there... he might not hold up.
