we take another midget WR/RB/college bubble screen hero. Hope he boosts the return game as moot as its getting. If he can handle punts, then rock on

Tomlin said returning punts was one of his specialties.

At this point I think they need to pull Danny Smith aside and tell him this is your guy do what ever you need to to get him ready but all he is doing returning kicks. Coach him up or you're off the island.

I seen a tweet that said he caught all but 2 passes out of 101 targets. Apparently he has good hands

That little WR ran a 4.7 40 which means Dupree is considerably faster.

    So... Dupree return punts?

Didn't he have a cast on his push off hand when he ran his 40's

He's a late round pick.... I'd rather take a flyer on a 6/7 smurf than a 3rd rounder.... We'll give him a shot and see if he can make the team in the fall.

Honestly size matters none... I too am intrigued by these shifty lightning rods, however we seem hell bent on em and don't know how to use em. If he's a punt return guy and it works, then that in itself is a pretty big win. Yes I am also glad he wasn't a 3rd rounder as well.

This guy is a WR, totally different then Archer who had no chance at his size as a RB. Comparing apples to oranges.

This kid can play a roll in the slot for sure, great hands and can stay on his feet after first contact.

I'm guessing he will be required to fair catch for a year or two until a better option comes along... if he makes the team.

Having a for real dangerous, shifty slot receiver is a nice thing. Looking at his resume, I feel good about this guy chances to be a real contributor to our special teams and offensive packages. I didn't feel that great about Archer from the start. I'm thinking we got it right this time.

I have no problem with this pick, it was a late round flier unlike the Archer pick which was a luxury.

Do not know the guy, but sounds like a good player. Good hands, good punt returner, and does not go down easy stated above - sounds like a perfect slot guy like a Welker or Edelman.

    Sure hope so.

There is also a chance the Welker/Edelman type player was drafted right after Ayers went when the Bears picked Braverman. I'm not familiar with either player, just what I've read in a few places.

Let's hope Ayers will pan out.

Personally I would have liked to have seen them pick Peake from Clemson at that spot who may have more upside than either Ayers or Braverman.
