Really? Seems like a recipe for disaster. Hope we don't see this in the game day thread much:

Artie got burned again! Colbert worst GM ever!

You wont. Artie is going to be a good player for us once they develop him. I am SO excited to go to training camp and see him with Goulson this summer!

Colbert is NOT the worst GM ever. But my thing is you can't give him an A when he is getting an F in tbe secondary. You just can't in today's NFL where the secondary is so important.

Care to discuss at length? Ahahaha.

No, I have no desire to go 12 rounds again :lolol:

I would just say though, that if you are talking strictly draft, Colbert has gotten an F but being a GM encompasses more than just the draft and because of that, I don't feel he has gotten an F, more like a C.

But he can hang with any receiver going deep, at his best in press coverage:

    CBS Sports overview:
Don't let Burns' track background fool you, he's a legitimate NFL prospect with the upside to warrant early-round consideration and clear determination to succeed. He's at his best in press man coverage, using his length, aggression and speed to harass wideouts on the perimeter and has the ball skills to punish quarterbacks who challenge him.

Considering where the Steelers draft year after year... even after 8-8 seasons... Colbert and Tomlin have done well overall, IMO.

It's easy to bash Colbert for his treatment of the secondary over the years, but I think it was more "bad luck" than incompetence. All I have to say to the anti-Colbert fans: see Cleveland Browns.

The rest of us don't like to fight either. We are all family. When everyone realizes that a Steeler is always right and their opinion is fact the world will be a much better place...and safer!

I completely disagree with this. I think Colbert has done well in the draft. I would give him a solid B. Now when it comes to free agents more like a D.

But when you judge a GM, all that is taken into account. That's why he's not as great as "some" want to say he is. He's good but ranking him at # 13 is about right.

Even the almighty, infallible, golden Patriots have not drafted as well as the Steelers over the years. They lucked up in the 2000 draft... round 6.

We will have two picks in before the Patriots even walk to the podium; that's nice.

They will still get an A+ Draft grade if they draft 5 London Sillyhearts.

Think you might have misunderstood. Overall, I think Colbert gets an A at his job as a GM. His drafting of the secondary has been an F (not counting Golson and Grant, still unknown) but because he has made some good additions via FA in the secondary, I bring his grade up to a C in that regard.

Oh ok yeah I misunderstood you. Yeah I think when you account for the retention of our own players I give him.an A overall also.
