Waht do you think about him ?
I just read that he wants to play another year. Why not a one year contract to replace bryant ?

This I wouldn't have a problem with. He still looked solid when we played them last year.

I have to agree with posters above, no thanks. WR aint our problem, depth in positions is.

I'd take him, mentioned him in some other thread, and he may be old and slow but he can still work the D to get open. Great hands and the vet leadership would only benefit Coates and Wheaton.

Boldin may have something left in the tank but I don't think he is necessary. He had 789 yards and 4 TD's last year. Wheaton had 749 yards and 5 TD's. Plus whatever Coates gives them.

As for leadership, we have one of the hardest workers in the league in AB. If you can't learn from him, you're hopeless.

True, but other perspectives and voices never hurt. I was just saying if they did pick up a WR in FA, he would be the one I would want.

I think if we could have it for a year and a little impact in the cap we should go for it.
We don't really now the level of coates because he didn't play last year (until the game against denver).
We don't really know if green will match with our offense.
In the worst case, we juste have AB and wheaton as receiver with bell. It's not what i call a big depth.

Of course it's the worst case, but if they have opportunities we need to go for it even if it seems we have depth in wr. After i didn't follow college games, so maybe there are good wr in the draft i don't know. But with boldin we know what we have, in draft we never know.

My Crystal Ball just told me we should have traded the 2014 4th round draft pick to try and pick him up.:wizard:

Boldin is great. If he is affordable that would be a no brainwr. Won't happen though.

Those numbers Without a QB... I'd be fine with him here. I'm sure he'd do great. Not that he's needed, but he'd be a solid pickup

Wasn't really knocking the numbers, just pointing out we have players on the team capable of the same output. How many looks do you think he will get on a team with as many weapons as we have? I think his numbers would still be about the same as they were in SF.

Wasn't knocking your post... I agree. I think he'd develop a pretty good rapport with Ben honestly... Ala the Hines safety blanket with more speed even at this stage. He ain't coming here we know that, but it wouldn't be bad if he did

If he could be had on the cheap, I would definitely take him. He reminds me of Hines. He is a great possession receiver and he fights for the ball like no other receiver I know of...

The Steelers generally look for faster guys that have YAC ability. Boldin isn't that guy. There's nothing wrong with possession WR's but our recent history has shown that we don't cover guys with that type of skill set in our WR corps. I'd be shocked if there was any interest in Boldin. I'd pass.

We lost ours in Heath. IMO this would free Green up to do what he does best. You have to have a possession guy and I don't see one on this team. Yeah Brown could do that but that would be a bad move.

Free agent Anquan Boldin's player rep says his client "certainly" isn't considering retirement.

Boldin has been greeted by an ice cold market, failing to draw so much as a single visit eight days into free agency. It's a bit surprising, as Boldin remained very productive for one of the league's worst offenses last season, catching 69 passes for 789 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games. He can definitely still contribute. The problem is more than likely an unrealistic asking price, which should soon come down. Mar 17 - 3:48 PM

I'm not overly worried at WR.

I'm interested in how Shakim Phillips progresses, he had a quietly nice camp last year.

Coates looked impressive against Denver as well.

I'm interested in him as well. I really liked Tyler Murphy, too bad the Dolphins signed him last year when we promoted Doran Grant to the 53.

I'm interested in Eli Rogers because before he got injured he looked like he had the most potential out of the bunch.
