    Will Braynt's absence be?

I believe it will definitely hurt us somewhat, but maybe it will put an end to the 3rd and 1
    bombs away?

It's going to be a pretty big setback. However, Tomlin and Colbert drafted Coates because of Bryant's drug issues. Hopefully Coates is ready to take a big step forward in 2016.

I think it will depend on how FA shakes out and how the draft goes. If they don't get a Vet who can be a legit #2 and help take the heat off AB then they have to try and draft and scheme to give guys opportunities. Might be why they were high on that kid from Ohio State as a project guy.

Wow,when it rains it pours. Let's hope that it was miss test and not more usage...but, I guess more usage was the reason for the miss test.

Missed test is the same as a fail.

As long as AB, Wheaton, Coates and DHB are healthy all season, they won't miss a step...

Big impact. Offense is much better with him on the field. If Coates can step up, it will make the loss somewhat easier but Coates is a couple inches shorter and while fast, hes not electric fast like Bryant. Coates ran 4.43 and Bryant ran 4.34.

4.34 is sick speed. Hurts losing that.

Not a huge deal now that we have a lot more speed at TE.I think Haley and the Team knew it was coming and already got what we needed. We will use Coates outside on the single WR side and use Brown in the slot with DHB on the outside of Brown a bunch ....

That set will still have plenty of speed and stretch defenses really thin. It will also be a very good running set with 2 Big WR's blocking on the outside.

I think we'll be fine with AB, Wheaton, DHB, Coates as WRs 1-4, Green and James at TE, and Bell and DWill out of the backfield. Let's hope Martavis Bryant can get his life together and maybe play football again.

It obviously takes away a big weapon, but I'm thinking that last season we nearly made the SB without having all of our receivers available to us for a hefty number of games.

If Wheaton and Ben can read each other's adjustments a little better, Coates learns to run crispter routes and James continues to develop then the offense will still be explosive as hell.

So true. not only 3rd and 1 , 4th and 1 too............ It is all about bell. If bell is healthy then bryant missing 6-8 games does not matter that much. We are loaded at receiver position.

I just can't get myself to think DHB is going to be dependable, I am not bashing him I am just being realistic. DHB had a very nice season but there wasn't no pressure on him. DHB hasn't done a whole lot in his career, and I have watched this kid in many games with other teams drop pass that MB makes in his sleep. I hope I am wrong Believe me I want this to work for us but just going by the body of work I have seen I am a little worried.

Actually, his circus catch not withstanding, MB was having trouble at the end of the year making catches.

Bryants talent is beyond ridiculous but you do realize he had more drops per throw than anyone in league except the guy from the broncos............

Except Bryant torched the broncos in the playoff game with 9 catches for 154 yards, and sammy coates only caught two balls on 3 targets but for good gains of 61 yards, a flash of his talent to come this season.......

Talent doesn't mean a thing if you have issues staying clean. He is already on high alert (no pun intended) to be tested. He will be on real thin ice as far as the Steelers are concerned.

I was talking about Coates flash of talent in the denver game, not Bryant, we already know he has talent but if he isnt playing it's useless to us, maybe he needs to talk to ricky williams who took forever to lay his bong down...

I don't; I think another year of maturing by Coates and Wheaton will compensate just fine. I'm not that concerned. But we all will monitor the situation. The best way right now to help our offense is to get that secondary together. That way, it can put the ball back into the offense's hands a couple of extra times a game by making plays.

It will hurt not having Bryant. DHB we know what he brings, Coates not at the same level Bryant was. AB is great but was helped by Bryant stretching the field. Wheaton is average. We are not as good a receiving group without Bryant. We may be adequate enough but not as good.
