He is a critical receiver, in 2014 he had 84 receptions for 884 yards and averaged 10.3 yards per catch, which rivaled a lot of the starting receivers in the NFL: In 2015 in 5 games before he was injured in game 6 he already had 24 receptions putting him on pace for another 80 reception season, so he is a valuable receiver for this offense not only as a runner but as a receiver........

Especially him being available for Ben to get the ball out of his hands quickly; limiting the hits Ben takes.

Agreed and understand, but I think the offense played pretty well without him this year correct? That is what the front office is going to say and think, I am by no means against Bell. All I am saying is without him the offense was good and the Steelers are already going to have a ton tied up in Ben, AB and the oline. How much are they going to be able to afford on Bell, not top RB money I am sure of that. I want the Steelers to re sign him but not at top RB money, he deserves it but we can't afford it, jmo.

Why play well without him when you can play great with him?

You have to keep in mind that a club that's a perennial loser will more than likely have pay more than a winning franchise.

I'm not sure why people are worried about resigning Bell. Steven Jackson should be available in 2017

Exactly. Bell is the type of player you figure out how to keep.

Agreed Diamond but where is this money coming from??? If Bell wants the money and wants to be the highest paid you have to give him AP money....42 mil? We just can't afford that, not with Ben and AB's money, and the large number of cash invested in the oline. I want Bell back I am not saying I don't he is a special player but I am saying we can't afford him is he wants AP money, especially just after Dwill showed the front office we were pretty good still without him.

    What do you care? :lolol:

As long as they can figure out how, they should keep him. Hes the type of player that keeps DC up at night. Dwill doesnt provide that.

3 players on this team that need to be kept, Ben, AB and Bell.

I am not against it I am just saying, most of our money would be spent on 3 skill players and 4 olineman.......I just don't see the front office spending that kind of money on Bell. Mostly cause Colbert is a bad GM, maybe you heard something about that......:facepalm::facepalm::shrug::shrug::shrug: lmao

Yeah and they over spent for old veteran players, Bell isnt in that catogory,Bell is worth the money, loading a team up with old veterans sets you up for failure as those players start fading on the back end of a season, bell gets stronger as the season goes on, no need to argue about this, Bell is a must sign and I dont think he will want some ridiculous ransom to stay here either....

Bell may not want a rediculous ransom, but his agent will. Still, a must sign.

Well maybe keeping bell and brown isn't too far fetched with Bryant doing everything in his power to become irrelevant

Even without the pot stuff, I don't think he would have ever been kept over Bell. Just don't see them tying up big money on two WR's.

Only thing I can think of is his agent slipped an extra zero at the end before everyone signed.
