I love heath, but green would be the most athletic te we've had on the roster since Eric green.....
If he can stay healthy, this would be a huge addition to an already unstoppable offense

Free agent Ladarius Green will visit the Steelers on Thursday.

Per NFL.com's Albert Breer, there is "serious interest from both sides." ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Green is "expected" to sign with Pittsburgh. The Chargers re-signed Antonio Gates to a two-year, $12 million deal Wednesday, paving the way for Green to leave town. The Steelers need to replace retired Heath Miller. Green has big-time pass-catching upside, and would be an intriguing fantasy cog in the Steelers' lethal offense without Gates to battle for targets.

 

Can't say that I've notice or watched him play, but his stats seem underwhelming. But he does fill a roster need. Welcome Ladarius..... edit: and damn he's got some height too.

 

Big dude. Did a pretty good job of being Antonio Gates when AG was out. Stats could explode here with more opportunities.

 

Is a very good player, and is a true threat as a pass catching TE . If we can get him we can use that draft pick elsewhere.

 

So..does this mean we will be cheering...GREEEEEEEEEEN..after catches?

 

I'm here on the West Coast and I've watched him play. He's pretty fast for a man his size. Shockingly so. A little injury prone but he knows his way around the end zone. Pretty decent get for us. gaining speed on that offense for sure.

A real threat right up the seem for a 20 yard TD for sure.

Would be a good signing. Our offense should be sick! Most likely be scoring 25-27 ppg when we should be scoring 40 a game lol.

 

I like it. Was rumored on other sites, and this guy played well when Gates was suspended. The offense, if healthy will be "video game like" however we still have to fix that secondary.

LOVE IT! Hoping another team doesn't swoop in at the 11th hour.

 

This would be a great signing. I still wouldn't rule out drafting a Henry in round 1.

 

i wouldn't be surprised if we draft two defensive linemen , there are a lot of talents this year

 

IMO no doubt it takes TE off the board and yes Green could be a breakout TE for us. He is a mismatch and with Brown/Bryant/Coates and Bell out of the backfield he would get a lot of 1 on 1 looks ..I love and will miss Miller , but Green is a lot faster i think like a 4.50 40 compared to the 4.65 of Miller's. That's a huge difference and would give Green the advantage to run away from most LB'S and a lot of Safeties ...

 

Yeah the Steelers are really high on James. Colbert even said he considered last year as James senior year of college because he's so young and came out early. He also said he came along nicely. Our TE corp could be nasty for years to come.

 

I really like this signing... If it is, indeed, in the bag.
