How much does the off season suck?

Right now, I'm going with a solid 9.

Heck, I was even thinking about starting a "Sign Greg Hardy" thread just to throw in some controversy.

The combine is coming up. meh'

Draft will be a bit exciting but then after that it becomes a long time until any football season begins.

So, how much do you dislike the off season and what do you do to pass the time?

Actually, with all the NFL and college football games during the regular season and then the NFL playoffs culminating in a superbowl in February and all the college bowl games culminating in a National champ game, a respite from football in the off season is a welcome break to get away from it for a while and a chance to devote time for other things not related to football..........

I love this time of year. If you aren't into the draft and evaluating players that could improve the team, yeah, this time of year sucks but for me, its a way to pass time figuring out how the team can improve and thats exciting to me.

Then of course, I have to like the moves they actually do make because they won't and most of the time, shouldn't listen to me :lolol:

I'll give it a 3 just on the fact that not having football to watch sucks.

It`s tough on me. I lost my interest in MLB years ago and have no other interest in professional sports. Have had little interest in college level sports, but will watch some March madness. Pro football is really all I have, so yeah off season sucks rating 9 or 10.

It's a 9 or 10. I have the NHL and march madness to keep me entertained, but I miss the NFL. I generally hate college football, so I only watch the Buckeyes games really. I cant stand the NBA and dislike college basketball even more outside of the tournament...

So yeah. It's NFL season, NHL season, then tears of boredom for me haha

for guys that just cheer for the final 53 steelers, i'm sure it sucks.
for the ones that follow all the nfl players, teams, FA, college, combine, pro days, pro visits and draft, it is a pretty good time of the year.
it all depends on how much you follow and know about the game, i guess.

Just imagine being a fan of a team that has no real chance every year, like the Brownies.

BRRRRR! Just got a shiver down my back, lol. No hope, no life.

    1, if that.

This is my favorite time of football year. In Madden I've always had more of an interest on the dynasty building than actual game play, and same can be said for real life. Moves we make now shape the next 5+ years of this team. Roster management and makeup is really interesting for me, and if I had the option to be a player, a coach, or a GM, I'd pick GM.

Pretty low for me - maybe a 2? I am a huge Pens fan so I watch a lot of hockey and I love the NCAA tourney. By the time, that is done, its only a few weeks until the draft.

Yeah, it's a different form of entertainment on the off-season, but entertainment nonetheless. It's all about the possibilities around this time.

I say 9 because I love the on field action of the NFL and especially the Steelers. My house could be on fire and I would still try and catch the next play before getting out and calling the FD.

Hockey is my second favorite sport but it no way compares to the NFL until playoff time. I don't agree with it going into the second week of June though. They should shorten the season so that it concludes quite a few weeks earlier. Perhaps early May

I really couldn't care less about basketball because literally anything can be called a foul and then not a foul 14 seconds later.

I spend most of my Saturdays doing more productive things so therefore I couldn't tell you 5 players going into the draft. I will watch the draft and cheer but really have no idea for whom or why I do so.

NASCAR just doesn't do it for me.

Golf does not excite me all that much.

Female tennis players are pretty hot but the Williams sisters really ruin that thought.

Camping, fishing and hiking are really the only off season excitement I truly enjoy but once the Steelers start playing again that takes a back seat.

    Is it September yet?

Hmmm... I'd have to say about a 5. I'm pretty middle of the road. I love, love, love Buccos baseball, so I'm excited about baseball season starting soon. I do not like NBA basketball, at all, but I do kinda get into March Madness. In addition to, hopefully, my improving golf game this summer, I also have the summer Olympics to look forward to.

I do miss our Steelers, though.

I enjoy this time of year a little. Combine and draft and all the news about the players. I also enjoy what people say about what we need to help the team. Free agency is good too.

Plus I've recorded all the Steeler game that they won, so if i need to watch football I just rematch some of the games.

This time of year is all about potential. Potential draft picks and how much potential they could have. Potential roster and coaching changes. Potentially annoying thread posts about running backs.

I hate football season coming to an end but I hate winter. I am not a very big NASCAR fan but I get into it until the weather breaks then it is golf season. I am a big Met fan and love fantasy baseball so with spring training starting that keeps me going. And the last thing is the NFL draft and FA, make this board come alive with pretty good conversation. I don't post much during the summer months but I enjoy my time here during the football season and draft time.
