The problem was, his college tape showed a straight line runner with lousy hands who couldn't make anyone miss. Many of his big plays came from running the ball between the tackles. When a guy is his size, he needs some shake and bake to make it in the NFL. Straight line speed alone isn't going to cut it. I hated the pick the second it was announced, and have hated it every day since.

you would think scouts, coaches, GM's and long time owners in the NFL would have known this. i will say there is a guy in this draft if they want that type of do it all player of many roles, he's there for the taking. braxton miller. i could see him running the wild cat, possibly becoming a punt returner and a decent wr. he's got speed and wiggle. i know we need D but add him to this offense even as another option part time and defenses will have a hard time defending us even more. he's one guy that could become that type of guy they have been trying to find.

The crazy thing is we really only need an average defense to win a title with this team. We don't need a running game... that was yesterday's NFL. Few playoff teams anymore have a great running game.... it just doesn't matter in today's NFL. Signing RB's to big contracts is not smart IMO.

You just need RB's who don't turn the ball over.

We can not afford luxury picks, this draft has to be concise and to the point.

This is so true, with our high power offense we just need a few stops on D and we will almost all the games. Now as far as RB's go we might find out soon just what the Steelers think about the running game as Bell is in his last year of his contract. I have read artiles that the Steelers feel they would rather pay the oline then the RB. No idea if that is true but I have a feeling with the injury he had I think Bell will want the money cause as a RB you never know when it's over. I can't blame him for that, I just hope he don't feel that way as I want him to remain a Steeler.
