We might need to get a backup for you because you seem to be suffering from CTE or something. It's probably best that you just drop this altogether. It's getting ridiculous and frankly making you look like a troll. I'm honestly trying to help you.

You're clueless as usual, did Tomlin sign Toussaint?

The Steelers weren't good enough this season get over it, a third string RB isn't the reason they didn't win a Super Bowl. The Steelers don't have a pass rush like Denver to beat the Patriots or Carolina.

They have all the talent in the world so who's fault is it?

I don't. Neither of those guys are as capable as Toussaint or Todman at this point of their career. They are names and nothing more. Washed up names. They suck. If I had either of those guys in their prime, I'd be ecstatic... But now they bring nothing to the table. Besides, we tried the washed up name thing last year with Ben freaking Tate and apparently we learned our lesson from it.

This whole repetitive, borderline-trollish argument all boils down to some desperate attempt to somehow blame Tomlin for losing to Denver. You try to make it seem like Tomlin did nothing at all to find a back up to Williams and he robbed us fans the joy of a 7th Lombardi. It's a load of crap. Totally false in just about every way imaginable. You're just throwing a fit that Tomlin didn't do what YOU wanted him to do, and are taking it out on the wonderful people of TSF.com.

The sad part of the story is that both of these threads have gotten a ton of traffic, and my avatar is littered across multiple pages of discussion... and for that shame on me lol

I wonder if you have ever played organized football? I'm not trying to be a jerk in asking... you just seem to think the coaches are there to make in game decisions and call plays. You don't see the importance of the preparation, focus, philosophy, and purpose that a coaching staff brings to a team. They don't just write play books and tell the players to do it. You think the great coaches out there that win consistently just win because they always get the best talent?

Football is a coaches game. This can be seen at all levels of football. The nfl is a coaches game also, but you almost always need a good QB to win now days. You see bad offenses and defenses get turned around over night with the addition of good coordinators. If you have a good QB then you really have no excuse.

The difference is those teams are in the playoffs and winning playoff games. The patriots just won a SB last year. We have not won a playoff game in 5 years....besides the Bengals debacle which I have a hard time gloating about a victory they gave us. We consistently lose to bad teams and we've done it more than any of the teams you mentioned. The stats have been talked about all over this site. The last 5 years we are not getting it done and we've got the talent to be better.

Well unfortunately we will never know if I am right but we know you are wrong. Todman ran backwards for like a 7 yard loss and got benched and Toussaint fumbled. So...

actually I played 10 years and 1 in college. I can honestly say that I never had to have a coach motivate me to play. I will say this. you can be the best coach on the planet. with no talent, you don't win. maybe in high school scheme and system can win. the nfl? players win. you gonna try and tell me gary kubiak became a great coach when he was fired from Houston?

I know the importance of preparation, focus, philosophy, and the purpose of the coaches. do YOU know the importance of talent. players play. I have been on some of the best prepared and coached teams and we have got our butts kicked. look, I aint saying tomlin is the best. but I will never blame a coach for not picking up a first down because the ball was dropped or a man got his butt whipped on that play. I wont blame a coach because a kicker misses a kick or a qb throws a pick.

it has been and always will be about the players executing the play. not every play will work. I know this. coaches have a responsibility to put players in the best position to succeed. even when they do that, it does not meant they will

I know former nfl players. I know one who played for bill parcells. not trying to brag or anything. but I think we can all agree he was a decent coach. he always told the players. sundays are on you. I can give you information. but its on you to win the game

lol that's rich... THAT was the quote you cherry-picked from my post?

How am I wrong btw? At best it would be inconclusive. There is no way of knowing if either of those guys would have performed better for us than Toussaint/Todman.

You know what the cool thing is? Both Pierre Thomas and Steven Jackson played on teams that made it to the playoffs. They combined for 14 carries for 31 yards (2.2 ypc) and a single catch for 2 yards. We really missed out.

You can blame the coach for putting him in that situation.. First NFL games in the playoffs. Nobody was prepared so you can blame the coach.

How is it inconclusive when Toussaint/Todman didn't work? Thomas was 2nd string because the Skins have more then 2rbs unlike the Steelers. Patriots don't run the ball. Would you like to compare their career stats when all 4 seasons are done? I hate Belicheat but I respect his talent evaluation over Tomlins.

am I wrong or were the steelers not ahead and driving before the fumble? so how can you say nobody was prepared? if you are referring to the Toussaint fumble. the play gained yards. I am gonna bet that if that was bell you wouldn't be saying this. it would have been his first playoff game as well?

Bell has 35 pro games played... Come on. There's a huge difference in that vs. first games in the playoffs.

I didn't bring up the playoffs. u said it was his first playoff game. I merely stated it would have been for bell too. Toussaint has played in games before. wasn't like it was his first action

Those 18 carries for 42 yards. Oh yeah, people want to trash Steven Jackson so lets compare the stats. Toussaint - 3 games played. 18 carries. 42 yards. 0 tds. Steven Jackson - 2 games played. 21 carries. 50 yards. Rushing td and reception for 20 yards.
