At any point in the game Did anyone ever feel like we had control of it?

When we were up 4 points and then 1 point. I never felt like we had control unless we went up by two scores. Even though Peyton is not the same QB I figured he would have one or two plays in him to be the difference in the game

No. Never but I just think that was because our offense (and actually their offense for that matter) wasn't playing that great. Could be because the D's were playing really well or could be because the QB's were injured.

I actually felt like we were in control from the first quarter on. Right up until the fumble I thought we would win. I figured we would kick a FG (at worst) on that drive and go up by 4, forcing Manning to go for a TD to win.

All I kept thinking is that their dropped passes kept it close. They kept leaving the door open for us but we couldn't pass through it.

Yes. A couple of times. Up 10-6, they got the ball in good field position after scoring on back to back drives. Felt like they could have really put some more pressure on Denver. Twice, up 13-12, they were driving and came away with no points. Felt they were in control on both drives.

Steelers probably gave away anywhere from 6-14 points.

I never felt like we had control. The possession of the fumble, I thought we could ice the game and put it mostly out of reach for the Broncos. Our D hadn't given up a TD yet and I thought we could put ourselves into a control of the game, maybe into a 2 TD lead. We were up 13-12, I thought with a TD and a 2 pt conversion we could really be in control. It didn't happen though.

While I don't think the fumble flat out cost us the game, had we scored a TD on that possession, and things I truly think would have been different.

No doubt we had some but our players were well covered for the most part. The dropped passes for the Bronco's it didn't look like anyone was even in the zip code.

yeah, I agree. it seems that helped us get off the field more than our d being responsible for it. in the end it don't matter how you get off the field as long as you do. that just kept me thinking that if they can start converting some of those 3rd downs, we would be in trouble

We were moving the ball with huge chunks of yardage. Our run game was looking good I really liked what the D was doing except for lighting Manning up more would have made me happy. I thought we had it right up until the fumble.
I suspect the team felt the same because they lost their edge after that. Champions have to overcome that. The donkey O was playing horrible. I thought we had them.

We had control right up to the fumble. Then I think the defense got tired.

It never felt like control, but for a while it did feel like we might be a score away from pulling away. The punt instead of field goal felt like a bad call, mile high is pretty kind to kickers and while I know the wind was strong our defense was on top at that point so even if Boz missed (and I don't think he would have) it wouldn't have been too big a swing.

Maybe anyway. Then again maybe there is a reason I'm not an NFL coach, and it's probable not location like I keep telling my friends...

Like many, I honestly felt like we were in control right up until the fumble. I feel that if we avoid that fumble, we score and win. I don't think the defense would have given up a TD drive without the sudden momentum shift. It has to be hard watching your offense march downfield, and then suddenly be back on the field after a turnover. If we score there, I think they stay at 12 points until the end. Just my view.

I was on cruise control, but felt like they were about to put another one into the end-zone right up to the fumble. Tough break. Defense got tired after that and you really can't fight through the holds late game up there. Though Big MC would have been used more, but it's all ifs and buts now.

I don't know about control, but after they held Den to a FG after that first punt return, I thought for sure they were going to win. I'm convinced if they kicked a FG on either of those 2 drives, Steelers win that game.

Your never in control when letting the opponent ride your bumper. Letting them hang around was all on Pittsburgh as team. No one player contributed to the loss, it's a team with various issues that couldn't overcome. I'm still sitting here with anxiety seeing how bad Denver played the ball yet we lose.. unbelievable!!

Never felt like they were in control because they were never ahead by more than 4. I felt good about their chances and was starting to get that 'in control' feeling when Toussaunt fumbled. Kind of reminded me of SB45. Just starting to feel good about their chances when Mendenhall lost the ball.

I thought up until Toussant fumbled they were gonna win. When he put that ball on the ground I got the sick feeling in my stomach like you knew the Broncos were gonna win. If the Steelers even kick a FG there and go up 16-12 I think there chances of winning were very very good. That fumble just killed all momentum the Steelers had and gave it all back to the Broncos.

I thought about that Mendy play a lot today. Seemed really similar to me.
