It would have been a 3 point game had we forced them not to go for 2.

going that way his 47 yarder barely made it. who knows he may have told them he couldn't make it that far going that way. its ridiculous to put that on tomlin

I think Tomlin wanted to swing field position. Try to pin Denver in deep for a change.

The punt was poorly executed. That's where the blame is.

Tomlin also probably didn't want to force Boswell into a bad situation where he could lose confidence on a long kick. Tomlin probably wanted him at full confidence for a potential game winner later on.

It's so predictable as soon as the team loses, there will be a Tomlin cost us the game by clueless fans . Even though the RB fumbled in the second half as they were in Denver territory, and the turnover led to a Denver game winning TD.

Yes. And we still lose. That decision did not determine the outcome of this game. For you to believe otherwise is just wishful thinking. We know it is heart breaking but we can't hang this loss on Tomlin.

Well I am just referring to this one instance of the game, you can never put it on one person. Multiple decisions go into whether we take that kick or not. The fact is we played poorly but were still ahead in spite of that but then that fumble just took us out the game. Now we get to watch NE slaughter them and go to another damn Superbowl.

No. Go easy on the insults. Debate merits all you want. Take the personal insults to a Bengals board.

Almost as if Tomlin knows his team, and their relative strengths.

I don't love MT but none of this was on him today. Our D is incomplete and we had 5 pro bowl caliber players (okay, 4 and Beach) missing. Hard to win.

Fair enough. But there is no merits of the argument to debate

I'm not a huge fan of Tomlin. He has a few tendencies that drive me nuts. But this loss is far from being on him.

Going for it on 4th and 1 was the smart decision. I'm actually surprised he did it. And it should have worked. We got jobbed there. Everything else boils down to poor execution, and some unfortunate non-calls. But through it all, we had the chance to win. When it mattered most, we didn't rise to the occasion.

Reset. Get some secondary help. We're on the hunt next year.

We are missing something.....we do not have that "it" factor and for the last few years we lose to inferior teams.....

I didn't mind the play call. Ben has more than 1 option. He chose the wrong one. Heath was wide open about 5 yds down field.

We are a banged up #6 seed. We lost on the road to the #1 seed. We did not lose to an inferior team.

Maybe I need to calm down but the fact that we didn't try the FG which would have made it 16-12 but instead booted it into the end zone just sent me over the top. With all of our injuries this year I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I do like Tomlin as a top 5 coach but I probably want perfection too much . For the record. I would have sent Boswell out there. It's like earlier in the season. MT maybe just doesn't trust him on long FG's for some reason. I'll never know why.

    Go Cardinals (for my wife).

    Screw the Cheaters!

Agreed. But we HAVE dropped games to lesser opponents too often the past few years. Being a #2 seed this season would have been huge.

(I am not, nor have any relation to the other "ray." ;))

I'm over watching this team come out Sunday after Sunday and make STUPID DECISION AFTER STUPID DECISION. I'm sick of the pathetic clock management. I'm sick of going for it when we should just play the odds. I'm sick of going for 2 based on "gut". Bill doesn't coach on "gut" and that's why HIS team is playing for the title almost every year. I'm not saying that I'm a "Fire Tomlin" guy but I AM saying that I'm sick of us fielding stupid bum corners and sitting guys that are clearly better like Boykin. I'm sick of stupid cliches trying to explain away our inadequacies and deflect from the real issues we have. I'm sick of drafting undersized linebackers because of where you THINK the league might be heading. The only solace I take is that the stupid overrated forehead that "won" today will get his lunch money taken again by a team that understands situational football and the magnitude of the moment. Do I think Tomlin is a smart football coach or great "football mind"? Crap no. If you do that's fine and I would honestly appreciate you convincing me otherwise. As a matter of fact, IF you think Tomlin is a great football mind then why do you think it?

Yes, that is true. Certainly that will be the biggest stain on Tomlin's resume. On the flip side, we've won some games as big underdogs as well.
