    HYPOTHETICAL OF COURSE

FIRST OF ALL, IN MY OPINION IF NOT FOR PORTERS PRESENCE ON THE FIELD THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE WE DONT WIN THAT GAME

THAT SAID, IF YOU COULD REWIND TIME KNOWING WHAT YOU KNOW NOW, WOULD YOU ELIMINATE THE PORTER FACTOR AND LET THE GAME PLAY OUT AT THAT POINT MINUS PORTER?

AS YOU CAN TELL, THIS IS A MATTER OF ETHICS, SO WOULD YOU TAKE THE CHANCE THAT THE GAME DOES NOT END UP IN OUR FAVOR, OR IS IT A WIN AT ALL COST MENTALITY KNOWING WE MOVE ON TO DENVER WITH A CHANCE OF MAKING IT TO THE SB?

BE HONEST. YOU HOLD THE CARDS

SHOULD BE INTERESTING....HAVE A GO AT IT

I think you meant "mull over", but I'll bite.

I don't change anything, because Porter was not sent out there to stir anything up. He's seen standing over Brown and the team physician just prior to that and when they're walking off the idiot Bengals start to corral him to start something.

My bet is they thought they'd be able to bait him into getting a call their way since they already received one on the coaching staff. Burfict lost it and then Jones really lost it. Not Porter's, Tomlin's nor the Steelers fault they failed in their gamesmanship.

You play the game and roll the dice it comes up craps sometimes.

Had the Porter call not happned, I would fully expect another personal foul by the Bengals on the next play.

They were literally that amped up.

Boz hits that kick so perfect and true it would have been good from 50+..That Porter penalty was just extra icing on the victory cake !

The try would have been from 49 or 50 yards had they not picked up any more yards on the next play. I believe that Boswell makes the kick anyway.

Thank god Shazier stripped that ball or we would have heard how great Cincy is and how they are going to beat Brady with their awesome defense. It would have been, do the Bengals start hot hand McCarron or thumb injury Dalton all week long.

Irrelevant question as Porter did NOTHING wrong.

As has been hashed over plenty of times (despite Bungle fans and certain media douche nozzles not wrapping their heads around it):

Joey was out there to check on / tend to AB. Yes, he was ALLOWED to be out there by the refs. The rules say coaches can't come out, but allows for it to be up to the refs' discretion (And coaches are allowed by the refs every. single. game). He wasn't flagged, ergo, he had permission. The video clearly shows Porter walking with the medical staff away from AB once he's tended to. Then Burfict reaches for AB and (accidentally?) touches the trainer. The trainer knocks his hand away - in light of how the game was going, you can't fault the trainer for thinking Burfict was up to no good. Joey turns to say something to Burfict - more than likely along the lines of "Knock it off." Then Burfict grabs Joey and pulls him into a group of 5 of them. One bumps him from behind and tries to loom over him. They're all jawing at him while he... DOESN'T SAY A WORD! He just smiles and shakes his head. Refs come in to break it up and Pac Man is so wound up, stupid is as stupid does.

So no. It's NOT a matter of ethics. There was no gamesmanship afoot here.

Frankly, I almost wish Porter HAD gotten in their faces and started swinging... even if it meant we lost. They had it coming.

But knocking them out of the playoffs, and hearing their incessant whining and crying is an even better punishment.

Boswell would of kicked a 50 yarder. Dude was on FIRE!!!!

Oh and where is the Porter fine we've been hearing about? I think that will say a lot about who was wrong.

Watch the video, Porter did nothing, lips never moved. He was there for Brown, as most teams do, then Giberry started pushing him, then Burfict and Jones. Just because the thugs, bitter off their loss, complained he did, doesn't make it true. What have they ever done where you would believe what they say?

If not for the Porter incident, we would have been on around the 40 yard line with 0:18 and no timeouts. I reckon we could have gotten off one maybe two plays (depending on spiking, going OOB etc) and gotten to within FG range anyway.

I've seen a ghost. Good to see ya, Doc.

    Agree.

Definitely. Probably could have gotten even closer if we had ran a couple more plays.
    Very true. Kid is money.
I don't think there was any calculated gamesmanship at work either. I'm glad he didn't stoop to that level. All the vilifying I've had to suffer through this week, I can't imagine what it would be like if he actually you know...did anything at all.

All the porter talk, and I never saw his lips move on the field. Pacman is certifiably nuts. For that matter, as previously discussed.... Bengals players shouldn't have been hovering around AB.... Get the F**K away and let our guys tend to our own. No bengals should have been within 10 yards of AB, or Porter or any medical people. Add that we still had 18 seconds on the clock.... could have easily thrown one or two sideline throws to gain that yardage as well.

Jerry Porter did nothing wrong but even without that incident, we would have won.

Still had time on the clock to move the ball closer, Bos would have nailed it.

Porter was the most hated player in the AFC north when he played, and players in the afc north who never played against him knows him by reputation, so all he has to do is be on the field as a coach to hit their hot buttons, and i'm sure if peazy and pacman ever encounter each other in lets say vegas, joey will ask him do you still want some of me punk........

It worked out fine. Burfect did what he wanted to do - hurt Ben and get him out of the game. Then he intercepted the Jones pass for what should have been the game clincher. Had the game ended without the comeback, Burfect would have been the man in Bengal country. Of course who in their right mind would want that title.
Instead, it blew up because of him and his dream fell apart. Does seem fitting doesn't it? Maybe there is a God. Only 3 more games to go for #7. After Denver, 2 more.

It all started when Burfict tried to pat Brown on the back, and the medical trainer pushed him away.

With all the worry about Ben and Brown I totally forgot about that. It doesn't mean a fine isn't coming, but they usually hand out those fines by now.

Speculating about what would have, or could have happened after that point is so difficult. There was still time to run a few plays and get quickly. Who isn't to say Bryant doesn't break a tackle and take it in for a score? As was said, I think Boz rams that ball through from 40-50

No it all started when Burfict reached in to pat Brown where his arm interfered with the Trainer walking Brown, and thereby got tangled up with the trainers arm....and that was ALL on Burfict.

Watch the replay again the trainer pushed Burf-dicks arm off of AB but there is no way he did it with that kind of force. Burf-dick new JP was standing right behind him because they said something to each other right before. He swung his arm backwards deliberately trying to hit JP not a doubt in my mind. Then Dingleberry pushed JP and Burf-dick grabbed him again by the jacket. If you really watch close you will see the ref who threw the flag on MS. pac-man noticed the dingleberry bump and headed right over to the group. The ref should of flagged dingleberry even before Ms. pac-man.

The video shows enough to prove Porter did nothing wrong. We don't need to go conspiracy theory to further make the claim. The trainer shoved his arm because Burfict has a reputation, and the trainer was protecting AB AND himself.

I'm not going conspiracy theory ,look at the brush off from the trainer,Burf-dick is 255 lbs and that old man flung his arm off like that....watch it again!

    By that
by that reasoning, you would also have to take Burfict and Jones out of the equation for the Bengals, which means no interception of Landry Jones, which means Yada Yada Yada..... You could disappear down this wormhole. What happened happened. We are on to Denver.
