Yup it was a "keeping it real" gone wrong moment. They were circling him hoping he'd do something. If Porter gets fined they should fine every Bengals coach that was on the field after Bernard's injury.....IJS:beathorse:

That was Peko in the cape. Gilberry did put a questionable late hit on Ben in the first half though.

Thanks, because it wasn't really elaborated anywhere that I've seen. The Bengals should really just contract their current roster and start over. My God, what a group of fools.

Porter was within a few feet of one or more officials from the moment Burfict got in the trainer's way until the flag was thrown. Hard to think he said something objectionable without a nearby zebra hearing it.

I've been through the NFL Rules twice, and I can't find anything addressing non-player personnel on the field during an injury timeout.

The national media, especially NFL network, is just pissing me off. ALL of a sudden, Porter being on the field is equal to deflategate and Tomlin should control his team, etc, etc. Like this is the first time a coach has been on the field for an injury. And Porter is leaving the field with AB when Burdick backs into him. Then Gilberry runs over into the back of Porter. But all of that is overlooked because Porter's on the field!?!

Then Mike Silver is saying that if AB plays next week, then the claims saying AB faked the injury may have some legs if you're a conspiracy theorist. wtf. ridiculous.

He had no business being on the field I agree. But the Bengals were stupid enough to bite and take and touch Porter so they get what they deserve. Marvin Lewis came out today and defended both pacman and Burfict's actions on Saturday. How Lewis still has his job is beyond me. He should be fired for what he allowed to happen on Saturday at the end of that game.

Will someone with more time than I have(kids under the age of 5) please go back and look at every injury this year and see where Porter was? This whole "he had no business being on the field can be cleared up if Tomlin sends him out there. Last season besides his other duties Porter was heavily leaned on by Tomlin during games not sure as to the nature of their conversations and exchanges but it is clear that Tomlin trusts Porter. So this may all be as ridiculous as it sounds. Thanks in advance if anyone finds out.

What isn't being mentioned is all the Bengals that were on the field as well... Some of those dudes weren't supposed to be there on the field as well

It's almost comical how the video is there to see how the Bengals cut him off them pushed him into the crowd of them before Jones had his "idiot" moment!

It's real clear what happened here and it didn't look like he was out there "M-Fing" everyone!

Anyone have the link where he was "Officially" given a game ball?

All I see are links where guys said he should be given one and the internet crazies going nuts about the organization, but I can't find one legitimate report that he was in fact given a game ball!

And let's not forget - we only won this game because the NFL wanted us to and the media love us and the Bengals are downtrodden underdogs.

No, wait, they can't both be right...?

I'm going to tell you why Porter was in the group of Cincy players. Porter was starting to move off the field when that idiot, Burfict, tried to intimidate the 80 year old trainer for the Steelers. Watch Burfict appear to put his hand on AB's shoulder and when the trainer walks through he appears to swing his right arm through the trainer which was a punk move. When Joey saw that he turned around and came back in case there was any more trouble. A Bengal came up behind him and pushed him in the back and other Bengals basically surrounded him and tried to illicit a reaction out of him. Watch the video and you'll see what I'm talking about. Porter did a GREAT JOB OF HOLDING HIS COMPOSURE THERE. If that had been the Porter of old, he'd have kicked all of their butts or died trying. IMO, Porter did NOTHING WRONG and if he gets fined the team ought to pay it!

I think Silver is :poopy:. Dude is so biased towards California/West Coast trendy hipster crap that it's sickening. Does not surprise me he's in bed with the Bengal thugs on this one, being that Burfict has a big ol' tattoo of the Golden State on his arm.

    -edit-

I think I should clarify that I have no problem with CA, the west coast, hipsters, or trends. But the guy acts like a little school girl around these players to try to get "in" with them.

The biggest thing here is that Silver is best buds with Hue Jackson.

Nah, no problems with them either! I just know that we have some west coaster's on this board and I didn't want them to take it the wrong way.

Porter probably said some stuff to Burfict, echoing the overall opinion of the Steelers organization on Burfict... Especially after a play like that where tensions are hot after a star player is injured on a cheap shot.. But the Bengals escalated the situation when Gilberry bumped Porter into the crowd of Bengals players. It looked like Porter was still heading back to the sidelines when he was shoved into the group of Bengals players. I think everyone is ignoring Gilberry's role in the entire situation. If he doesn't push Porter, it's likely nothing else happens after that, as Porter was on his way to the sideline. Gilberry is lucky he wasn't flagged himself. He's escaping media scrutiny for whatever reason.

I agree with this 100%. The Bengals were trying to goat Porter. They know he's a hot head. They also knew they just screwed them selves with a stupid penalty. A 15 yard flag on us would have saved their game. Instead they got the flag because Jones is a moronic thug.

Also worth mentioning is the fact that coaches and staff come on the field during every break in the action.... especially on injuries ...but when ever there is a break you will see coaches on the field talking to players. While Brown was down the Bengals had staff on the field also.

Then to make this leap that so many seem to accept... Porter says something and that makes him the bad guy? I've yet to see any proof of this but lets assume Porter jawed at them. Words are said in every game... you see guys on the sidelines jawing all of the time. That doesn't give you permission to shove the guy. It's as if Porter is being scolded because he should have known the Bengals have no control of their actions therefore should not be held accountable because Porter said something. That logic is so ridiculously flawed it's not even funny. To dismiss the fact they were pushing a coach and shoving an official because they think Porter hurt their feelings is laughable. Yet the media is running with it. Maybe Brown said something to Burfict? Then not only was he acting...he probably deserved it according to Bengal guy and espn reporters. Shouldn't poke a bengal with a stick... they cannot be held accountable for their actions.

JPP Did you find that in a rule book? I couldn't find it. Also when a player is hurt you see a lot of coaches and a coaches go check on him. Like Mike Golic said refs let it happen for injured players but bet not after that game

Yup! I don't get the focus on Porter here! The convoy of Bengals on the interception clearly had an assistant coach in the middle of it running like an idiot all the way to the endzone, so if you want to play that card.....

Right...when is the last time you saw a coach taunting the opponent after an INT? Talk about excessive celebration... besides delay of game. The Bengals are the biggest hypocrites ever. It's like when you get in trouble as a kid and you start pointing fingers at everyone else... "YEA BUT HE DID THIS!" WAAAAAHH WAAAHHH. Now that they've been spanked, stick a nookie in the Bengals mouths and put them to bed.

I said a few times there are many many times coaches of all kind come on the field for an injured player
I can not find it in the rule book although many here say NFL rules state. I challenge anyone here to find a rule. Here is the rule book
