Well there is also this, if the coach gets permission from the head ref it is allowable, and Ian Rapoport reported this:

With an injury that appears to be more serious you will see players and other staff out on the field at times to check on player. The referees gave Porter the benefit of the doubt because there was real concern for Brown. The officials were working to clear the field and keep the two teams apart when (Bengals cornerback) Adam Jones came in and tried to get at Porter...

Did the refs miss a call? Sure, but they missed other calls that went against us as well. An early whistle cost us 4 points when Shazier created the fumble. They aint perfect they are not the reason for the win or the loss. Great teams over come bad officiating. Bottom line is that jones and burfect cost their team dearly and I am damn happy they did. I am enjoying this win for all it is worth and I am not hanging my head because someone thinks the refs gave us another game.

Porter didn't appear to be checking on Brown. Why is he likely to be fined if he was there legally and didn't do or say anything?

Likely fined is speculation let's cross that bridge when we get there.

I seriously hope you can find time to just enjoy the win.

You know some people just can't do that. Not sure why they put so much effort into something they can't enjoy.

    Speculation?

The win was enjoyable, but those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. Collingsworth, Dungey and D. Patrick all just saying Porter being on the field was/is a problem. I'm glad the Steelers won, but let's not act like the Steelers weren't beneath the line too simply because it worked in their favor. It may not have had any impact on the game, since after VB's penalty, the Steelers were in FG range. I just hope the Steelers speak to their staff because next week, the NFL's leash will be much shorter. Winning a WC game is nice, but the goal is to win a title.

I get where you are coming from, but yes it is speculation. Ian make up a rapport has quoted sources in the past and been dead wrong. It may come to pass, but until it does it's speculation.

Also nobody is saying we are angles. I am saying that I loved what Joey did and I believe it helped us win a game. Even if he gets a fine I am good with it.

Now tell me how what Joey did compares with what burfect did?

The refs didn't have control most of the game. There were multiple incidents where Bengals and Steelers players came onto the field when they shouldn't have and they were not flagged. At some point, I think the crew may have feared for their own safety. That was one of the most volatile crowds I've ever seen at a football game.

Actually, they don't allow 'assistants', which JP is.
