The Steelers offense and defense still made big plays at the end to win this game. The strip on Hill by Shazier,Ben coming back in the game after being hurt and making some huge throws especially the one to AB on 4th and 3 with the season on the line. So while the Bengals did implode big time there at the end the Steelers still made the neccessary critical plays when they needed to most at the end to win this game. This defense while it gives up a lot of yards and big plays always has come up with turnovers and big time plays this season when they needed too.

The Steelers should not have been in that position at the end of the game. Apparently, a few of the guys thought the game ended at halftime but fortunately woke up at the end to come through!

really? we blew this game we had in hand big time. luckily the bungirls handed it back to us. butler went into prevent way too early and it cost us. by the stupidity of they're players we pulled one out of our arses. next week that won't happen, so we better keep the heat on the whole game and not play to hope they can't score fast enough at the end. our red zone scoring of TD's better improve in a big hurry in the playoffs. we can't live on 3's with this defense. these teams that are left can score quickly. we can not leave a 20 yard hole in the middle of the field with a minimal pass rush and expect to win.

I agree next week the Steelers need to play much better and this offense has to be able to put the ball in the end zone more then it has been doing recently. The play calling in the red zone these last few weeks has been down right horrific.

The twists and turns in this game were just ridiculous. Still tring to process everything that went down last night. Seemed like a season of drama and crazyness played out in just 4 quarters. wow!

Really??? You are blaming Butler and the Defense for the near-loss???

If I told anyone prior to the game that the Defense would hold them scoreless for 3 quarters, get 4 turnovers and allow only 16 points, you would take that every time. Not to mention the scores came after the Bunguls started in Steeler territory. Our top rated offense needs to score some points.

Let me add why can't we ever seem to find a decent punter who can at least get the ball to the other side of the 50 when he punts from our end of the field? Instead we get ones who always pooch it when we need them the most. I thought we had a good one at the start of the year, but last night was awful. I certainly hope we find a better punter in the near future.

I was actually more impressed with the D's performance than I've been most of the season.

I agree with this and the part that makes it even more glaring is the fact that for 3 1/2 quarters this defense played lights out. Might be the best effort I seen all season and for it to go away on a change in scheme or whatever blows. We had this game, the defense won this game despite Tomlins gamble for 2 points, despite Ben going down, despite the bad weather and despite fg's instead of td's. Great job by the defense last night just bad decisions by whoever decided to go into prevent mode......

As James Harrison likes to say, "They get paid too." Credit the Bengals O coordinator for not calling the same plays that weren't working and making adjustments.

Why does someone always have to be to blame?

How about the Bengals are a good football team and were battling for their lives. In the process Ben gets hurt and misses almost 25% of the game disrupting the offense allowing the Bengals to almost get the win.

I saw a number of blitzes that didn't get home on their first TD. Ben getting hurt and putting Landry in is what allowed them to get back in.

yes, I don't think I could put blame on the defense. That was a tight game between division opponents. I don't think I would blame the offense either though. Running game stepped up big time with Fitz and Todman. This game came down to emotions and gut check time imo. Glad I wasn't playing, I would have blew it and went head hunting lol.

Great defensive effort for 3 1/2 quarters, but Butler almost blew it by going prevent, leaving the safeties 30 yards deep, and quit blizting in the 4th quarter. The 4 rushers were tired and couldn't get enough pass rushing allowing their QB too have too much time towards the end. The defensive scheme at the end was similar to what got us in trouble in the Ravens game.

Thank god some Bengal players are more stupid than some of our decisions, and we can be thankful for that.

:this!: The game seemed to shift after Shazier lit up Gio. We couldn't stop them after that but before that, the defense played lights out.

The ridiculous PI call on Blake was another big play. The whole "not turning around" BS does not apply if the DB makes no contact with the WR, as what happened in this case.

Agree. He "interfered" with himafter the WR had already touched the ball.

I agree with that, for most of the game the D controlled AJ pretty well, and shazier had a monster game, anytime a defense can hold an opponent to 16 points they did their job, and when Ben was out, that hurt us the most with jones throwing a pick and he was pretty much 3 and out when he was stinking up the field....

I'll add that a part of this was Ben getting hurt just 3 plays later weakening the offense.

This fact is lost on the Bungle fans who are bitching about the missed call Shazier. Refs call Shazier, Ben doesn't get injured 3 plays later, offense better controls the game, most likely Bungs never take lead.

Better yet: If the ref doesn't blow the play dead, Shazier has a TD, AND WE'RE NOW TALKING 22-0.

Anyone got a clip of the play that they can post? I'd like to watch it again.
