I feel betrayed, how about ya'll?? As fans we invest so much hope into a full season. Our goal is to win the superbowl. The first step is to make the playoffs. For them to be on track to make the playoffs by playing 2 very very bad teams to end the season, & not even show up to play well against your most hated rival ...like Steven says it's so disgustingly frustrating ...it's almost as if they (Steeler players & coaches) are more interested in playing golf than a NFL playoff game

Tired of depending on someone to fail to succeed. I'm sure Buffalo will fold like a tent, so I think I won't watch any football games this Sunday. And we all know it's no guarantee the Steelers will play well against the Browns in Cleveland...

Why would Buffalo fold? They have a chance to screw their rivals out of a playoff spot. I fully expect the Bills to win at home, and the Steelers to beat the Browns.

I was reluctant to open this thread, as I hate Smith and ESPN, but I did and he was right on. Ravens end the Steelers playoff run/hopes in back to back seasons...unacceptable!!

You know what ,that article really does open your eyes to how this season really went ..
Ben did not perform all that well to be honest ..Should have lost the Denver game without question and many other bonehead would be picks that were dropped could have costed us games..I think we all got blinded by the spurts of "splash plays" here and there and got a sense of how "great" this team was when in reality its average at best.

I do still hope this team gets in ,and maybe just maybe they pull their heads out of their butts and go on a 5 game winning streak!

Agreed. :this!: Consequently our only wins against teams that will finish with a winning record.... Arizona, Cincinnati and Denver (all home games). A wild card birth will likely cause more heartache on the road.

Yep, he's telling it like it is. Wish the kind of passion he has in this video would have been seen on the field by the players last Sunday.

And the root cause named Tomlin is hardly mentioned and not held to any accountability. This failure is not about this one game. Tomlin has failed throughout his watch to have this team prepared at the start of the season to get off to a fast start or to win vs. subpar teams then needs to scramble and hope for "help" to get into the playoffs. Tomlin has all preseason to prepare for the Pats, for 3 quarters Gronk ran up and down the field uncovered, all watched by an X defensive back now head coach standing on the sidelines. A team with this talent should not be in this position and the defense should have shown constant signs of improvement, not worried about how well they dance. Tomlin is a joke. A team takes the personality of it's head coach, lackluster coach, lackluster team.

I liked this paragraph the best, since i've been laughing at all the conspiracy theorists here about throwing games to keep pitt out of the playoffs, he nailed it with this:

The funniest thing I heard all week was conspiracy theorists claiming the Patriots intentionally lost to the Jets to keep the big, bad Steelers out of the playoffs. Somebody should tell those people that Tomlin's best hope of winning in Foxborough would be Bill Belichick and Tom Brady literally dying of laughter as they watched film of the Steelers secondary.

Since the Steelers game comes on at the same time as the Jets vs Bills this Sunday, I'll actually be "watching" the Bills game and tuning back to the Steelers game during commercials (this is a first).

But something is going on to where these guys are not preparing for these games...something in the teams preparation strategy.

I'm thinking, they are under-estimating weaker opponents and translating that into their game preps.
They should have the mind-set to "blow out EVERY team that they play", score-wise (like the Pats), instead of "well the next team is weak, we don't even have to practice for these guys, we're the Steelers".

I'm thinking thats what's going on, or at least part of what's going on. Either way, a bad philosophy and team culture somehow has evolved.
